i'm SO Glad I'm No Longer a Young Man Looking for a Date!!
« on: July 08, 2025, 08:15:56 PM »
i thought this story was a one-off until I did some research.  What is wrong with some people?  This would never have happened "in my day."

A guy and gal met on Tinder and set up their first date.  First dates are supposed to be for making that first impression as good as you possibly can so it might lead to a second, etc.

So, the guy ghosts her and won't return her calls.   She thought the date ended well, so she enlisted the help of a morning DJ to contact the guy to ask why he was ignoring her attempts to contact him.

The DJ had the girl conferenced in on the call while he called the dude.  Turns out, she didn't offer certain details in her story.  Everything seemed to be going great until the meal was about over.  While he was in the restroom, she called the waiter over and ordered an appetizer and 3 complete meals to go -- for her kids!  Of course, she expected him to pay for all of it, which he did rather than make a scene.  He may have been glad to pay anyway if she'd had the common sense to ask him first.

When the DJ asked her why, she came up with a list of reasons why there was nothing wrong with what she did.  She said it was his fault he went to the restroom just as the waiter came back.  If he'd been at the table, he would have witnessed the to-go order.  Second, she had to pay a baby sitter for HER kids.  Since he asked her out on this date, she figured he owed her for the cost to her -- like babysitters.

There were a few more rationalizations, but none of them were valid when it's obvious she felt the world owed her everything, and her date was just a member of that group.

After getting to the bottom of the date with no denials from the woman, the DJ and his crew were telling her that they don't blame the guy for ghosting her.  They were shocked that he was nice enough to pick up the check for food neither of them ate at the restaurant.

Through searching on the Interweb, there are more and more examples of women doing this same thing and even on a larger scale.  One woman ordered 10 to-go meals for her 3 kids!  This guy was lucky he didn't have to go the the restroom!  He told the waitress to hold the to-go orders until they talked about it.  When she insisted that he pay for 10 meals (not 3) for the 3 kids he's never met, he got up and walked out on the date.

Has anyone here ever had a similar experience?  I understand this might only apply to communities that have a high volume of fatherless children (we know what the stats are), so I imagine this is a cultural phenomenon that's more associated with a given demographic.

Do some web searches.  Lots of videos of DJs running into the same situation where the woman was confused as to why her date stopped answering her messages.  Also lots of podcasts with stories that are as bad or worse.

No wonder guys have been labeled as no longer wanting to date.  Hook-up culture is a whole lot cheaper.

I just remembered something else.  When I was heading toward my divorce, I was curious about these online dating apps, so I made an account on a couple of them.  What I saw there and also on places like Craig's List shocked me.  Half the women entered criteria like, "No broke-ass deadbeats."  One even listed a minimum annual salary she would need him to have before saying yes to any date.

Our society is doomed if this demonstrates where dating has ended up.

Years ago when I was single a gal I worked with told me that she was entitled to section 8 housing
because she had 2 kids and a live in boy friend who worked when he could.
She further stated that her sister is worse off. The sister has 3 kids, no husband, and no boyfriend.
She also told me : "Eh my sista one good wahine you know." "You know anybody looking for a good
woman? I told her that her sista needs to find a man with 3 kids and together they can make the local
style Brady Bunch.

I had a buddy in high school who told me his father always said, "If you can't live with 'em, don't f**k 'em!"

I remember the viral story years ago of a welfare queen with 15 kids.  Her man who was the sole support (other than welfare) got locked up.  So she had the bright idea of going on TV to shame the public into providing her whatever she needs to take care of herself and the 15 kids.

"Somebody needs to be held accountable."  Truer words were never spoken...

Did their mother also believe that her kids' needs are the responsibility of everyone on Molokai?

People are free to have as large a family as they want -- as long as they have the means to support and supervise them.

When I was in high school my older brother had a friend named Quince.  He came from a big family and he happened to be number 15.  Quince in Spanish means 15.

He also had a younger sister who went on to model for Playboy.

There was 5 of us sibling when I grew up.  Back then it was pretty common for parents to have 5 children.  Nowadays it raises eyebrows.

I have a niece who has 8 children.  From 7 different men.  She actually married one of them but he left her and took his 2 children he had with her with him.  This was after she made #8 with a different man.

Needless to say she is a career welfare momma.  And my stupid older brother sends her money twice a month.  She is quick to write him a letter (she lives in Texas) stating whose birthday is coming up.  I tell my older brother you are a fool but God loves you and my niece claims she loves him too.

When Planned Parenthood finds a solution for these kinds of baby-making machines, maybe then I'll be okay with them getting federal funding.

Seems like the people who should be Pro-Choice can't stop making the same bad choices.
