Yep, pretty much.
While many 2A supporters or pro-gun people may not agree with Shapiro's stance on gun control, he demonstrated how to go about having a rational conversation, supported by facts in these types of arguments. It was clear that he was prepared and he did a lot of homework on the subject. I believe Shapiro's point was more on Morgan's bullying tactics by calling anyone who disagrees with him a "stupid person" and trying to get them to react on emotion than rationally. I just with more pro-gun people would take the same approach.
I'm glad you said that, because as soon as Shapiro said he was ok with a registry, I was like, "Whooooaaah, bucko!"
I believe that Shapiro is right when he talks about the primary purpose of the Second Amendment being a hedge against tyranny. What I don't get is, if you rightly believe that, in what world would it make sense to provide that same potential tyrant with a list of who owns what guns, how many, and where they live?
It would be like if the US had, during the Cold War, provided the Soviets with a list of all US nuclear missile silos and ballistic missile submarine patrol areas. (If someone had done it then, they'd have garnered a lengthy prison sentence or a noose for their treason!)
