American Idol contestant gets her own hunting show
« on: August 02, 2010, 09:21:23 AM »
I'm not really a fan of hunting shows but this could get some more people from the mainstream to look at hunting in a different way.

"American Idol" introduced Kristy Lee Cook to America. Now the country singer is hoping that hunting will make her an American household name.

This weekend, Cook debuted her new reality series, "Goin’ Country" on cable network Versus, where cameras chronicle the singer’s struggle to get a record deal while also following her on a series of hunting expeditions across the country.

It’s the classic American story of a girl, her guitar, and her gun.

Wow, I like it!  Not that I have any clue who she is, but I do love the idea!
The difference between theory and reality is that, in theory, there is no difference between theory and reality.

I have noticed a lot of tv shows comming out now showing guns and hunting in a differant light. It's refreshing to see the media showing our views, other than the typical stereotypical portrayal of guns being a bad thing. (i.e. Top Shot)  It would be so cool if there were some local Prime time tv shows about shooting sports in Hawaii.

What kind of guns are shown on top shot? I never did see that show before.

They've had all sorts of guns and other things on Top Shot. Springfield 1903, Mosin-Nagant, M1A, AR-15, Baretta 92, lever action guns, single action shooters, bows, crossbows, slingshots. I'm probably missing a few too. There are supposedly two episodes left in the season, so they'll have more to add to that list.
