The Olympics have always required gender testing to make sure no country, Russia in particular, was entering biological males or intersex contestants in women's events.  Some Russian women looked awfully masculine.

Now that we have DNA testing available, i hope the testing is more accurate than simply measuring hormone levels.

If you go to any hardware or electric supply store, you'll be given 2 alternatives for connectors:  male, or female.

There's a reason gender is binary -- so you aren't trying to mate two parts that were not meant to go together.

If we follow that analogy to its next step, maybe we need to allow for a "universal" part, but that requires that the part can be connected to both male and female connectors.

Simply taking a male connector, holding it up for all to see and calling it a trans-female connector doesn't change its design nor its intended function.

Why do people make things much more complicated than necessary?
