I got mine a couple of hours ago and paid it in full immediately.  I even asked them if the amount was correct because it seemed too small.

You laugh, but they wouldn't continue to do this if people were smart enough to not fall for it.

Saw a video where a woman had already given scammers $20K, and they called her back and talked her into almost handing over another $20K.  It was all predicated on her granddaughter being in trouble and needing the money to avoid prison.

Luckily, the police were called when scam busters noticed the active scam happening.  Cops caught her on the phone with the scammer, and she began telling the scammer what the cops were doing and telling her!

This flurry of scam messages was so widespread and obvious, it makes me think that it might be just a decoy tactic while some other more insidious scam is going on.

Beware AI phone calls where they keep you on the line long enough to steal your voice. Then they can call someone you know and the AI voice that’s impersonating you will say you have an emergency and need money right away.

AI can be used for so many good things.

But we all know what AI will be used for.  It's already prevalent all over the f*ckn internet.  The biggest is misinformation and deceptive images.

There are so many scams these days. I just heard of one that targets people who once had credit problems.
Even though these people paid off their debts, the scammers use what ever info they have on their targets
to convince them to pay up the bogus amount owed or else.
