The US Supreme Court granted cert in two AWB cases, Viramontes v Cook County in Illinois and Grant v Higgins in Connecticut litigated by the Second Amendment Foundation, FIrearms Policiy Coalition, and Connecticut Citizens Defense League (Grant).  I expect to get a fierce ruling next June that will exceed that of the Wolford opinion.  It will also demoralize the HI legislatures attempt to pass a AWB, allow us to finally get rid of our pistol magazine ban, and get us on the path to get SBRs/suppressors later.

It's not specifically in the question before SCOTUS.  However I expect a good opnion will cover parts and accessories, which in turn will be used in HIFICOs Abbott v Lopez lawsuit on magazine bans and NAGRs NAGR v. Shikada on magazines and assault pistol bans, along with California's magazine ban in Duncan vs Bonta which has gone through the complete appeal process twice in the 9th.

We finally got a our first circuit split win in ANJRPC vs New Jersey regarding hardware, Assault rifle and magazine bans.  This was an expected win, 10-5 in the en banc court appeal overturning a final decision upholding the bans.  The gun control organizations would always claim AWB were always upheld in the appeals court and they cannot make that claim anymore.

It was theorized that this win was necessary before SCOTUS would take up an AWB or magazine prior to SCOTUS taking on Viramontes.  This win will help the Viramontes case a little bit.

Going through the Amicus Briefs, ie friends of the court briefs - supporting evidence provided by outside organizations to help justices in their opinions.  Petitioners side (gun rights) submission deadline was Sept 4th.  The Resopndents side (gun control) submission deadline is October 28th.

This is a law enforcement organization for county, state, and federal law enforcement officers supporting the 2A.  Says they cannot own the firearms once they leave service.  They also state CA wants to criminalize legal gun owners, but don't want to punish actual criminals that use guns in crimes.

Supports the right of the people to own AR15s.  Says law abiding owners are not the problem.  Banning them would create friction between the public and law enforcement.

Says they're trying to stay neutral and support neither side.  They agree that self-defense is important to the people in in religious historical traditions.  Also that freedom and the constitution are important.  But they got the clincher at the end...AR15s are too lethal and it was beyond the founders vision to have AR15s fall under the 2nd amendment in the future.  This is odd in that the bible and it's teachings are very old, but still strictly followed, and not altered to account for the modern attitudes and way of life.
