If there's a buy back I think we need to make our own on the same day and offer a little more like they did someplace. I want to say New York but I may be mistaken.

Seattle just had a gun buyback where quite a few private individuals showed up and offered cash instead of the government provided gift cards.

That would be great and funny to boot...if they ever had a gun buy-back program, turn it into a firearm auction of sorts, loaded with all the pro-gun guys buying up everything just above what they can offer. ;D

I'll gladly stand outside the collection facility with a lot of cash

Someday someone may kill you with your own gun, but they should have to beat you to death with it because it is empty.

I think a few enterprising fellows can pitch in to a large pot, sell on consignment to OGC / X-Ring / Young Guns, etc., then split the proceeds evenly, and send 2aHawaii a decent percentage to support the forum.

Kinda figured this one would pass.

The way it is drafted, the measure would give $100K to the county police departments this year and next.

Original language is kinda vague as to how the funds can be used ("in support of this program").

Total waste if money.

Anyone know what the amendment added/deleted?

The bill text can be found here: http://www.capitol.hawaii.gov/session2013/bills/SB69_.htm

Basically a few paragraphs describing the "horrible" amount of "gun crime" across Hawaii and then appropriating $100k between the Hawaii counties this year and next.
