Bend Oregon school shooter

https://www.foxnews.com/us/3-children-1-adult-killed-oregon-elementary-school-shooting-suspected-gunman-dead-police

from what I can glean,
some 16YO kid with a shotgun started killing kids in the school parking lot, then went into the school for more.  Apparently, a CCW bystander saw that and followed the shooter into the school and un-alived the evil kid, I guess, that happened after the school shooter offed an adult.  Including the 16YO shooter kid dead, and 3 kids dead (ages: 5, 8, 11), and 1 adult teacher dead.

Of course, the anti-gun guvnor, who is up for re-election, has to rush to Bend to get in front of the cameras, and praises the CCW bystander as a hero, I mean, what else is she going to say.

and the school has a no-guns policy, including CCW.  The internet is abuzz about whether the democrat, woke, anti-gun libtard AG is going to bring charges against the hero for violating the gun-free safe space.

That's what I gather ...

Well, the Democrat junta that runs Hawaii has got this covered - no heroes allowed here to save your kid from homicidal trans monsters:

§134-9.1 Carrying or possessing a firearm in certain locations and premises prohibited; penalty. (a) A person with a license issued under section 134-9, or authorized to carry a firearm in accordance with title 18 United States Code section 926B or 926C, shall not intentionally, knowingly, or recklessly carry or possess a loaded or unloaded firearm, whether the firearm is operable or not, and whether the firearm is concealed or unconcealed, while in any of the following locations and premises within the State: ..... you know the places, and school campuses are one of them.

So if this happened here - one of us with a CCW license entered a school and killed the shooter - would they prosecute their evil law?

Well, I'll let Hawaii Supreme Court Clown Todd Eddins answer for the junta:

“The spirit of Aloha clashes with a federally-mandated lifestyle that lets citizens walk around with deadly weapons during day-to-day activities,” the Hawaiian Supreme Court wrote. “The history of the Hawaiian Islands does not include a society where armed people move about the community to possibly combat the deadly aims of others.”

Never forget the evil that runs Hawaii today.

looks almost like an election flyer?  Seems like one of the many California transplants in Bend, maybe one of the rare "good" Californians?  Bend used to be a redneck town, now it's California "hippie" style.  JMO.

according to the internet, the 16YO kids mom bought him the shotgun.

I wonder if she's going to be sued, or charged, like the parents of that michigan kid.  Resulted in serious jail time in that case.

I lost it when I saw the pic of one of the children killed.

Did you see the face of that asshole?  Mommy said he was a good boy.  Does that face look like the face of a "good boy"?

Would love to know why mommy bought her "good boy" a shotgun at 16 yrs. of age.  Makes me wonder if she is fit to be a "good mommy".

Fair warning to all you sick fucks out there.  My grandson is now going to pre-school.  Special needs.  Next year my other grandson will be going to school also.

If you think your firearm is gonna scare me, even though I don't have one on premises (thanks to this fuckin state of hawaii) you are badly mistaken.

Quote
Once he was inside, the shooter went straight into the classroom that was to the left and fired as many as 15 rounds.
(Police Chief) Krantz said the shooter used three types of ammunition and that all the victims were shot in the classroom.

Giamanco grabbed a .40-caliber pistol he legally kept in his car and went into the school through the same doors. After hearing the sounds of a shooting, he went into the classroom, where he saw the suspect struggling with a teacher, who had thrown her cellphone at and tackled the shooter.

Giamanco shot him multiple times. The shooter forced his way into the school by firing a shotgun at locked doors, Krantz said, citing the initial investigation.
He said the shooter fired as many as 15 times and had about 44 rounds remaining when he was killed.

44rds of 12ga is a lot to carry.  The Maverick 88 pump-action shotgun, depending on model, has a 5rd or 7rd magazine, most likely the 5rd model.  Hard to imagine the perp kid firing 15rds of 12ga in his 4-minute killing spree, woulda had to reload, perhaps twice.  He must've been practicing that.  His mom bought him the shotgun in August for his birthday, just a couple of months ago.  Could be that the teacher who threw her phone at him and then tackled him, he was reloading?  Kaylub Giamanco apparently came upon the perp while he was wrestling with the teacher.

Brave teacher.  And father.

I gotta do research as to why the majority of these shooters are teenagers or young adults.

In Mililani Mauka my grandaughter's elementary school locks the back gate and only opens it up about 10 minutes before the bell rings for end of school so parents can enter to pick up their kids.

What bothers me is my grandson is going pre-school at another Mauka elementary school and when I go to pick him up the back gate is always open.

It falls under the choice of evils.  If you have to break a law to save a person's life, it would fall under this.   Like shooting someone in self-defense. Not just from guns, but also breaking into home to save someone from a fire.  It's an affirmative defense, so the defendant has to prove it in court.

That is sad that laws in Hawaii are structured that way.  In the Oregon school case it looks like the father is obeying their laws and only after he actually saw the intent of the shooter did he grab his gun from the car.

If he didn't see the intent he would have like a good citizen, go to pick up his kids and potentially would also been a victim, along with his kids.

44 rounds aint too bad, it's just 2-25shell boxes.  Think the shooting in the classroom was only for a minute or two which must've been fast reloads.  Since a teacher was killed in the classroom and he shot 15 rounds with 1 to 2 reloads, I'd assume the teacher that saved the day came from elsewhere which adds to the heroism and courage.  She performed John Correia (from ASP) 5 D's for disarms:

PLUS 1: Distance — First, close the distance between you and the weapon
Deflect — Step off the X while gripping the attacker’s weapon and hand, and pushing it to the side away from you
Dominate — Take command of the situation
Distract — Divert the attacker’s attention
Disarm — Simple, fast, full-throttle; separate the weapon from the hand
Disable — Kick, punch, whatever is necessary to immobilize the attacker

Usually past trauma from bullying and harassment at school.  And they blame their current life's troubles for what happened in the past.

Thanks for the post on the "choice of evils" code.

As for my rhetorical question: "So if this happened here - one of us with a CCW license entered a school and killed the shooter - would they prosecute their evil law?", any moral and reasonable person would of course say no - it would be an abomination!

But this state is not run by such people - as my quote of Hawaii Supreme Court "Justice" Todd Eddins clearly shows.

That being said, as the story has evolved, it seems that Mr. Giamanco retrieved his gun from his truck - he wasn't actually carrying it on his person.  Under Hawaii law it would be lawful for him as a CCW licensee to have the weapon safely and lawfully secured in his truck while on school grounds - just not on his person.  Since use of lethal force in self defense or the defense of another is not prohibited in places specified by the "sensitive places" law here, it does not appear the State would have an opening to try to prosecute under the "sensitive places" ordinances in this case anyway.

Hey Mr. Quiet - something to assess if you volunteer at the school and are concerned about such things.
