The Boyd's Tacticool Stocks are back on sale again!
http://www.boydsgunstocks.com/?Click=11435

Made for different model rimfires savage, cz, ruger 10/22, and marlin.

I had heard rumors that they would not offer these to the public anymore. I guess public demand was overwhelming.

I just checked the link and yes it does fit on a Savage MKII, but does it have to have a HB to fit properly?  MY MKII doesn't have the HB, just the normal barrel with iron sites.

I don't think it will have any problem with a light barrel. It'll just have more space under the barrel for a guarantee free float. But, just to be on the safe side I would call or email them to find out for sure.

Some of the issues I had, if you want to call them issues, was the stock doesn't come with a trigger guard or bottom metal, and the front action screw was a tad too long.
My original plan was to get the cheap FV HB and run the tactical stock. The FV has a molded trigger guard and cannot be taken off.  I ended up getting a BV with the laminated wood stock. That stock come with a removeble plastic trigger guard and bottom metal.   Because of my original plan, I had ordered new bottom metal and trigger guard from Stocky Stocks, which are metal (pot metal I think), so I used those instead.  As for the action screw I just shimmed it with a few small washers under the bottom metal plate, so it cannot be seen.

If  you want to go tactical for the MKII I think this stock is the way to go(much better and cheaper than buying the tr model)   However, if you want a more classic look,  I have the stock that came off my BV with the trigger guard and bottom metal. It is missing some common wood screws that I used to mount to the Tactical stock, but you can get those anywhere. It has never been fired! I took it off as soon as my brother gave me the rifle for my birthday. $100 for all and we can meet at Kokohead or something to make sure it fits before you buy.

Oh P.S.   How does that savage shoot for you? Mine really likes Wolf Match Target, It'll put five through one hole at fifty yards, if I read the wind right, and I don't pull the shot!
Also, are you gonna shoot the rimfire match?  Lotta fun and challenge..  ;)

EGW and Rimfire Technologies has some pretty cool 20 moa picatinny rails for the MKII.
Mine had the mounts already on there, but that leaves out the option of irons.

If the apple seed stuff works out, I think of using the MKII. By the way that is a nice pick of your MKII.  One more thing does the HB make a diffrence?

I really like the HB. It gives the rifle some heft to it; it gives a nice balance to the gun. I also think it helps with the accuracy because of the stiffness. I don't know though, it has been said that, heavy barrels don't make much of a difference, accuracy wise, with a .22lr.

I know what you mean about fiberforce.

Can't really find any tactical style stocks for your 60. Boyd's does have a pretty cool thumbhole stock. Good price too. But you gotta put a finish on it.

Also seen this grey laminate at midwayusa.

Do you know if the marlin 800 or 900 series stocks would work for the 60?

I heard the 990 interchanges parts with the 60 but I was wondering if anyone could confirm if the stocks interchange. Mahalo.

Because the 800's and 900's are bolt actions I don't believe it will fit.  Also, the magazine tube on the bottom of the barrel means that the stock has to relieved in this area to accept that tube.
I have heard with some imagination and wood working skills a 10/22 stock can be made to fit. However, not being familiar with either the 10/22 or the model 60 actions I can say how difficult that might be.
