Now the question is, can Duke defeat Abercrombie?

Well, let's look at the numbers:
Total votes cast for Democratic Party for Gov - 236,479
Total votes cast for Republican Party for Gov - 44, 554

That more than a 5:1 advantage to the Democratic party candidate....do you think that can be overcome? I don't....I think Abercrumby will be our next Gov and we'll all suffer because of it....

Deeeeviant

Unfortunately, I think you're right.

It might be more possible than we think:

New poll says governor's race is statistical tie

The poll, released by Rasmussen Reports public polling service, showed Democrat Neil Abercrombie at 49 percent, with Republican James "Duke" Aiona pulling in 47 percent of the vote and 4 percent undecided.

The primary election votes misrepresent the true Republican/conservative voting strength.  Many like myself crossed over to vote on the democratic ticket for the primary, but will be voting reublican in the upcoming general.

In this case I would be more than happy to have been wrong about not being able to overcome the numbers of democratic voters...:-)
