That's an interesting muzzle device.  DD's own?

While I'll never own another DD rifle, I'll be happy to help you test yours.  8)

Yeah it's DD's gen 2 "muzzle climb mitigator".  I'll actually be at the fun shoot for the morning portion on Sunday so I'll see ya there!  Gonna go zero it tomorrow.

Athlon BTR 6-24x50 FFP gen 2
Got the gen2 model. Improvements are more audible and distinct clicks on the adjustments, zero stop, illuminated MOA reticle, etc.  Going on my AR308 build. I needed a budget optic bc I just fixed the brakes on my civic and I owe this year on taxes, so money really tight right now but I want to finish this build too. Athlon got some very good reviews, we'll see how it goes. Glass is clear as my vortex, clicks are very solid.

This is a more expensive athlon optic. If this guy is impressed it must be good. This guy has excellent vids on long range shooting and optics

That's cute ::)....

HPD is on it's way to your house right now for unlawful possession of High Capacity TP Magazines.

Nobody should have more than 500 sheets in a roll

Took a chance on a Taurus and got this pistol a few weeks ago. I've been extremely pleased with it for shooting accuracy, fit and finish. An overall a winner for me ... and geez, it's a Taurus, who'da thunk? Maybe being made in Miami, FL, rather than Brazil helped with the quality?

Anyhoo, the gun runs great with all manner of 22's, from CCI Quiet semi-auto to CCI mini-mags and assorted brands and power factors in between. No FTEs or stove pipes, and all ammo (3 boxes worth) fired with no duds. The three dot sight system is good, but the 2-way adjustable rear isn't all that stable and I found that putting some blue Loc-Tite on the threads was an improvement.

Having aiming issues with all handguns and my eyeglass prescriptions, I recently put an ADE red dot on an S&W model 67 and that sold me on handguns and red dots. What a huge difference. The ADE sits very high since the gun's rear sight was replaced with a picatinny rail, which required an added mount for the red dot. This makes dot acquisition not easy at all, and 50% of the time I have to fish around for the darn dot. It's not a carry gun, so no big deal.

Buoyed by the revolver red dot success, I ordered out a rear sight plate for the TX22 slide and stuck on a FastFire3 red dot (3moa). Accuracy immediately improved as expected, but dot acquisition instantly became near 100% all the time because dot's proximity is so much closer the the bbl bore. However, due to the added weight of the red dot and mount (about 1.5oz) to the slide, reduced power CCI Quiet semi-auto rounds had about 50% FTEs and CCI std vel rounds had about 15% FTEs. No problem with CCI mini-mags.

Now I've got a slide plate and Vortex Venom red dot coming for the Ruger American Compact. Life is still good.   :shaka:

New bbl for the Rem 783 6.5 Creedmoor - 28" stainless Criterion heavy weight MTU taper and a new PTG bolt face.  The glass is SWFA S/S 16x42, EGW 20moa rail, Boyd's AT-1 stock, the Crossfire trigger is adjusted to just about 2lbs.  Hand loads are Starline brass, Federal match ignition, H4350 dust, Hornady ELD-M 140 grain pills.

Coming together for the 1 mile shoot  :wtf:  :shake:  ;)  ;D  :shaka:

The old bbl was the stock 24" Rem medium weight with a MBM 3 port Beast brake, and Covenant 5-25x50 glass.  This rig (with hand loads) was easily good for consistently going under 1moa at 700 yards.

I have a S&W revolver with a Vortex Venom red dot. And for some reason I have a hard time picking up the dot. I realized after a while that I was aiming too high most of the time. So now when I shoot the gun I put it at low ready and then slowly raise it and I pick up the dot over 90% of the time. After a while you will use a modified not so low ready and you will pick it up quickly and easily every time. This may or may not help you because you may not be having the same problem. But it is an easy solution to the problem if it helps you.

went to LGS to look at the Springfield MC Operator
it was there, and so was a Long Beach Operator.  i didn't know anything about the LBO, so i went home and did some research
its almost the same but the LBO has a magwell and does not have front checkering like the MC Operator
front checkering isn't really a big deal to me personally, but i do like the magwell.  and i like the T finish better than the green on the MC Operator.
both have Trijicon night sights. both triggers are incredible.
to make a long story short, i tapped out to temptation and got the Long Beach Operator
now i just have to wait 11 weeks to pick it up bc hpd online reservation system that totally sucks, but heres a pic of the LBO in 45acp, of course!!!   :geekdanc:

I just bought a Hi Standard U.S.A. Model H-D. It was purchased by the government as a .22 training pistol and a target pistol for the shooting team. This one was made in 1944 and has the “Property of U.S.” roll marks. This one is parkerized. It has little use on it and the sights are not stock. Grips are black plastic and note the rake of the grip is much steeper than a 1911. I have the original box and paperwork that came with the pistol.

It really doesn’t need much. Just a new driving spring and a good cleaning and lubrication. Assuming that the magazine is tuned properly it should run great!
