Back on topic. Got around to putting the parts together for my SPR build. Just need a scope and I'm done.

That's exactly what I wanted to hear. Sorry if I offended you or anyone else but it was pissing me off that I put out a legimate question and all I got was sarcastic answers. Nobody could answer my question and no solutions. Just a bunch of trolls. For zip ties I don't mind using it for the cord but I wanted something for the tape switch like the Magpul Ilumination kit. I don't know every product on the market and Google is not an answer for everything.

Yeah, I hate trolls....

Almost as much as I hate Thread-Jackers!!     >:D

I think you would get much better responses if you learned to be more humble instead of bragging about all the stuff you buy and then start asking dumb questions that can be looked up.  Most people don't like braggers that are spoiled.

I still didn't get a solution from anyone yet. Any takers or people just full of shit? I also can't figure out why someone would spend hundreds and up to thousands on their firearms and won't shell out less than $20 ($17.89 on Amazon) to properly mount their tape switch to their standard rail and recommend zip ties? I guess some are not rich (I ain't) but if you can't afford $20 maybe you in the wrong sport.

You best slow your roll son.   Nice pick up Shane.  That flash hider is going to be a classic.

I really like it. I'm still learning how to shoot, so it's not like I'm an expert, but I felt that I shot it better than my P30LS (I have the DA/SA variant, with a stock trigger). I suspect that it's because the trigger breaks sooner (or travels less? not sure about the nomenclature) than the P30, so I don't have to hold the gun on target as long while pressing the trigger. And there's less of a chance for me to yank the gun while working the trigger. Ergos are good, but I prefer the grippier skateboard-tape feel of the P30. However, when we get carry I think the VP9 grip will be more comfortable than the P30's when concealed. I've never shot a PPQ, so don't have a point of reference with that gun, but I think the VP9 is better than my friend's stock Glock 19 in both grip and how the trigger feels. Of course, that's just one n00b's opinion, and I'm not a Tier-One Operator.

You should get one - OGC had a very good price on their first batch. I got mine from Cross Creek Guns (HKPro vendor), so it was just under $600 shipped. With the FFL fee it was the same cost as Carter's, and I regret not buying locally. No matter who you buy from, it's at a very reasonable price, particularly for an HK.

I would think that Carter would be willing to put you down on a list for his next shipment. I also saw that Kaneohe Gun Shop has one in stock (at least according to his website inventory). Not sure how much KGS is charging though. Mike at Cross Creek is really cool, I'm sure that if you sent him an email explaining that you'll be out of town for a couple of weeks, he'll try to make arrangements for you.

thanks musu

Yeah, on HKPro I'm HKinHI. When I registered I figured that not many people on that forum would know what a musubi is (i.e., round and white, just like me). I usually hit KHSC on weekdays, but if I go on a weekend I'll send you a PM. When I was first shopping for my P30 I went to X-Ring and remember Dexter talking up Walther. Fortunately (or unfortunately, according to my wallet) Brian had a USP and made sure that I went with the HK instead. I'd love to get more opinions on how the VP9 stacks up with the PPQ. And Sig P320, too.

BTW, after shooting the VP9 I was able to touch the front of the slide without gloves. Granted, I was shooting at KHSC pace, but I don't think that the gun got any more hot than any other gun I've ever shot before.

Where I'm going, it's really close by to Cross Creek.  I checked LGS last week and sold out.  I can wait, more should be coming.  When I was shopping for 9mm P30L or M&P Core, or USP9 Tactical. Dex also try to convert me from buying the HK to the PPQ.  I took a breather and thought about it overnight.  Macsak posted the VP9 release that night and decision made.  When I have time, I'll thank Macsak in person.
