still sitting in ATL since 8/8.  I already filed a service request with USPS.  they closed the case, still no optic and no updates from USPS.

they email me wanting me to do a survey and rate their service.  5 questions all zero's!

bc it was sent regular mail, it makes it worse.  I cant even get in contact with the number they gave me.  other number is just a bunch of recordings
I'll never send stuff regular mail again.  i'd rather pay more and get my stuff than save a few dollars and my stuff is lost.

I really want this optic, but I don't want to buy another one or wait 60 days for USPS or whenever they decide to get back to me
USPS sucks!!!!   :grrr: :grrr: :grrr:

so 1 day later, after I contact the seller, low and behold the package is in Honolulu and on the delivery vehicle.  out for delivery today.
the seller responded within a day, so that was good.  it wasn't the seller's fault, it was USPS fault.  I contacted the seller to see if they could help in any way since I wasn't getting any help from USPS
i guess in the end its all good.  just took a while

Sometimes a package gets transported by contract carrier between mainland locations.  Also, if it was shipped via a USPS partner, like Mailboxes, Etc., the tracking can be spotty at best.

Until it actually arrives at a USPS facility, not a contracted carrier, it appears to be in limbo based on the tracking history.  Then it magically appears at the Honolulu post office.

I've seen this happen several times.  Just have to be patient.
The reasonable man adapts himself to the world;
the unreasonable one persists in trying to adapt the world to himself.
Therefore, all progress depends on the unreasonable man.

Also from personal experience, only the sender may file a lost claim suit. Like you, my stuff sat in cali and ny and other places forever. After i contacted usps, they told me only the sender can file a lost claim. Contacted seller and 1 day later it was in honolulu. I have no idea, how that works lol.

Whats really funny is i ordered something from amazon. Nothing gun related. Was coming from Kansas i believe. Got to California,  then back tracked to new york. Waited 3 weeks. Contacted Amazon.  They sent a replacement. Got the relacement in 2 days after intial contact. Then 1 day later i got the original. Amazon said i could keep both. Lol silly people.

Fyi if your shipment gets stuck in CA city of industrial. Epect to wait an extra week. Always happen. Usually when i grab stuff from ebay. I think it must be some kind of cheaper route. But its good you got your stuff. 👍🏻

Here's the Springfield Long Beach Operator
shot 50 rounds through it.  shoots great. trigger is crisp, no take up, short reset. I like the flared magwell, functions well and its not too flared like a race gun so that's good
overall its a great shooter
it is really tight slide to frame. initial racking the slide, you need some man-hand strength, but i'm sure it'll break in. cleaning the gun, the bushing was really tight.  first time I needed to use the bushing wrench.  good thing I have one, came with my Ruger 1911. I couldn't even budge the bushing with my hands, had to use the wrench to turn it. in order to remove the bushing I had to tap the barrel against the bushing several times to loosen it up, then it came right off.  then had to tap it back in after cleaning.  it is tight!!!

Ruger Mark IV Hunter
added Altamont grips, rail, Holosun 507c gen2 green dot
this 22 pistol shoots great!  long barrel, weight of the gun, larger grips, green dot, all contribute to a great shooting 22 pistol.  I only shot CCI SV, 40 grain lead, as recommended by 22Plinkster
gun is a great plinker, and accurate although I didn't shoot bullseye targets yet

That Springfield looks awesome! I remember when to get a 1911 with all the features that your gun has required taking it to a gunsmith and spending $2k.

I used to have a MKIII with the similar fluted barrel. I don’t know if it is the same barrel or not but mine was a great shooter. Especially with CCI SV. But it would eat up pretty much anything. Ruger makes the best all around 22 pistol ever made.

I was lucky enough right before ammo became scarce I was able to snag 3,300 rounds of CCI SV and 2,500 rounds of Blazer and had them sent to my nephew’s house in Phoenix right before I moved to AZ.
SCIENCE THAT CAN’T BE QUESTIONED IS PROPAGANDA!!!

That's good that you planned ahead and secured some 22 ammo ahead of time. I also have been stockpiling 22 and other calibers

I agree, Ruger does make the best all around 22 firearms.  Models like the 10/22, single six or single ten, Mark series. American bolt action, sr22, LCR, just to name a few. I have in 22LR: LCR, single ten, American bolt action, Mark IV, I had a 10/22 but gave that to my nephew a while ago. I might get another 10/22 to replace it. Ruger's niche in the market is the everyday person. Quality gun, affordable price, aftermarket upgrades. But I have been looking into a Volquartsen rifle instead of upgrading a 10/22, but we'll see if I can afford that later  :D

You’re my hero!

I’ll get a SA 1911 one day. Maybe one each in 9 and 45. The bushing on my dad’s old 1911 is like that too. It’s a budget 1911, but apparently the fit up is just about perfect. Took it to a 1911 guy and he said that’s just about how he’s like a nicely fit 1911 to be. I had a bushing wrench, but it was a plastic one and I about broke it first time taking down my dad’s old 1911. Since then, I got a nice one from Brownells and it’s was better.

My RIA 1911 can be taken down without any tools? So I thought that was normal.

The Ruger looks like a nice shooter. That action and red dot looks like a nice combination. Makes me want one too. Haha. My S&W 22 pistol is fun to shoot, but haven’t shot it in years.

Good to see you hit the range!   :shaka:

Been mostly buying parts, both for guns and shooting gear lately. A bunch of good sales recently and seems like things are coming back in stock.

Some things I picked dip recently:
Swift clips for PC
B5 Bravo stocks x2 (becoming my fave stock)
AA mag pouches
Gel cups for my ear pro (they get nasty from sweat and sunscreen)

Also been changing out old knife sharpening tools. New whetstones and steel/ceramic coming in.

it was good to hit the range.  we will be adding more steel targets, hopefully a longer range target soon.

Scatt Basic. Its an optical based trainer. I wanted a trainer to see my hold before and after a shot breaks. I had a Top Gun before and it worked OK. The Scatt Basic also allows for live fire.
