Here's my little pistol collection. The only way u can own them in Oz is to be a competitive target shooter and their are stupid limits on what and how much u can own.

- Ruger Standard - with Tacsol barrel & brake and volquartsen grip set up for ISSF
- Ruger GP 100
- Para Ord GI Expert (got my STI .22 conversion on their at the moment).
- Taurus PT99 - gonna trade in for a CZ Shadow in the new year
- G17 with a OD slide cover/grip. Needs a Zev trigger next year.

Only thing missing is a Deagle which I will buy before I die!

I shot reduced loads out of it. Can't take the heavy loads any more. They have very nice triggers and are accurate as all hell.

those are my reloads.  reduced powder so it feels like a 44special.
much more comfortable to shoot.
i'll still shoot some magnum loads, but after about 25 rounds or so it starts to hurt.  especially out of that 4.6" barrel.

I got a dirty Harry gun and it used to be funny to shoot magnum ammo...until the gun broke.
da bugga kinda hurts too.
I still take it out once in a while but I  run 180 jhp with 30 gr. H110
Spectacular but less recoil.
Note that short bbl does not mean more recoil. The reason is significant velocity drop with reduced bbl length.

Slidefire and Frog Lube would work well.

come to think of it, comparing my GP100 357 6" barrel to my security six 2.75" barrel, the recoil isn't that bad out of the shorter barrel
