if it is one you bought you also need the receipt. I think thats all.

I've never given HPD a receipt. They don't care what you paid for it.

They don't ask for receipts in Hilo or Pahoa either.  The seller turns in a form saying he sold it to so and so and then so and so takes it down and says I bought it from seller.  Nothing else required except valid permit.

You might need a bill of sale if it was purchased from a private party. 
Otherwise they'll just ask you where you bought it and you tell them the name of LGS it was purchased at.

While HPD won't ask for a receipt, it is a mighty handy source for the proper name and address of the seller, which HPD will ask for.

If you got it from a store then they just write the name of the store on the form. I assume it's because they already have all the info for the stores already. If you got it from a private party then all that "acquired from" information should be filled out when doing the transfer.

They dont care what you paid for it but i have had them tell me they wanted the receipt. I bought a gun online and my FFL did not give me any receipt or anything. I did not have a receipt but they had me take a seperate little form to my FFL for him to sign basically saying where the gun came from.
