Considering there are loaded guns and many bystanders I'd get as much info as possible take pictures and report it.  Last thing we in the gun community is a fire fight and innocent people get hurt.  But of course if the thief poses a direct threat to you and others are lives in imminent and direct danger You may have to defend yourself.   But this is a last last last option.

I don't know what that clown was thinking; it's not like he/she can sell it legally.

Most guns used in violent crimes are stolen. After all, if one is committing a crime with a gun, why should one be expected to use a legally-owned firearm? Where do you think black market guns come from? Not from people who take their legally-owned gun collection into a back alley and set up shop!
The difference between theory and reality is that, in theory, there is no difference between theory and reality.

Wow, now I'm worried to change my targets out.

I might have to walk backwards and keep an eye on my firearms.

man, stuff like this is scary.  I wish we could just carry handguns in hosters when we change out targets.

Damn laws here too.  Even at the gun range us citizens are un-armed.  Imagine if you could holster your weapon while there and some punk decided to lift your buddies piece...

This past Saturday the RO's were more attentive
They gave a couple people a "hey you" for crossing the line
But I'm gonna be more careful
Maybe bring my own video surveillance.

They might steel that too. Think the buddy system is the way to go.

I know many past & present RSO's and have nothing but respect for all.  BUT the bottom line is that this happened during a cease fire, when the RSO/RO's are MOST responsible for maintaining the safety and security of the line. If shooters are beyond of the firing line, someone should have been standing watch to ensure the safety of all by securing the "no-go" zone.  Don't get me wrong, I'm angry that someone would steal from a fellow shooter, but there's just no excuse for compromising everyones safety. This is not about trust, "dumb" laws and policies, shooter carelessness, or even the lack of facility surveillance equipment.

surprising.  i would be yelling and moving stuff around looking for my gun,  asking everyone. put the entire range on lockdown, see what cars are leaving, try remember who was around that isnt, etc, etc

Maybe nothing was stolen... Maybe some dude trying to prepare for when guns are illegal to own. Can't confiscate what you don't own....  Tinfoil hat but who knows

Could be a liability issue if the gun is later involved in a crime.  C&C might be sued for the RO's not watching the line during a cease fire.
When only cops have guns, it's called a "police state".

Man if that gun was ever used in a crime the gun grabbers are gonna ask for the range to be closed because guns could be stolen during cease fires.
