where can i find a .22lr kit for AR locally?
« on: March 31, 2013, 10:30:59 PM »
anyone know where i can buy a .22lr conversion kit for my AR here in hawaii? ive been to several LGSs but always forget to look for one of these. ive looked on armslist and found a few for 150-200 with a few mags but im wary of paying someone online then hoping they send the item. anyone know a way to conduct a payment for the kit that is insured or foolproof? i was looking at a Ceiner and a CMMG kit but i really want to just buy locally. lmk please!!!

I vaguely remember - perhaps between $175 - $300.
To put things into perspective, used Army M261 kits go for about $150 - $200 when I see them for sale. Cieners are about $125 pre panic. Or you could get a dedicated .22LR upper

If they were in stock, the below prices are what it would cost to order these .22LR conversion kits through Sports Authority (prices include shipping, but not tax). I'm not sure what you would pay for them at local gun shops though. These are the only CMMG conversions available through our distributors:

Quote
CMMG Bravo SS .22 Arc Kit 25 Rd
Comes with: Stainless Steel Bolt Group, 25 Rd Arc Magazine
MSRP: $229.95
Actual: ~$218

CMMG Echo SS .22 Arc Kit 25 Rd
Comes with: Stainless Steel Bolt Group, 25 Rd Evolution Magazine, Charging Handle, Forward Assist Adapter, Cleaning Jag Guide Rod
MSRP: $279.95
Actual: ~$246

CMMG India SS .22 Arc Kit 25 Rd
Comes with: Stainless Steel Bolt Group, 25 Rd Evolution Magazine, Charging Handle, Forward Assist Adapter, Cleaning Jag Guide Rod, Brass Locking Lug, BHOA, Mag Loader
MSRP: $329.95
Actual: ~$286

We do not allow back orders, but the CMMG online store does.

I was tempted to buy one a few months ago but became concerned about wear on the barrel. I decided to shelve my decision to purchase until I was able to satisfy my concern. I haven't figured it out yet and may just end up  buying a dedicated upper or a whole rifle designed around that platform.

So if it was available from your distributer I could walk into sports authority and
order it? Even with the 20% off coupon?

Coupons are not valid for special orders. But you could order it, if they were in stock....but they aren't.
