New York Police Confiscating Firearms from People Taking Anti-anxiety Medication (Read 15585 times)

Knew it wasn't a matter of if; it was a matter of when the mental health aspect of all these new gun control laws would start snowballing.

It seems as if the government is using New York as the new testing grounds for there anti-gun laws to disarm US citizens....pretty scary $hit!!  :wtf:

Maybe because the same meds that are prescribed for depression also treat anxiety.

I agree.
"A free people ought not only to be armed and disciplined, but they should have sufficient arms and ammunition to maintain a status of independence from any who might attempt to abuse them, which would include their own government."

Yeah but same story is covered by multiple news agencies all over the web. Infowars is just one of many news agencies. The story is legit.

This will have very bad consequences.  People will inevitably stop seeking treatment for mental issues for fear of confiscations, the crazy shootings will increase, the gun bans will increase, all guns will be banned for the law abiding.  Thanks politicians for keeping the people 'safe'  >:(

Ah, but it's not about keeping people safe.

It's about converting people from citizens to subjects.
I do believe that the radical and crazy notion that the Founders meant what they said, is gradually soaking through the judicial system.

This issue started long ago.  When schools and parents started putting half the school's kids on ADHD meds, they never considered the long term implications.  These kids became 18-year-old graduates, and they needed jobs.  Many were denied employment in areas that could not accept the liability of hiring a person with (1) a mental problem (ADHD), and (2) a long standing prescription for a mind-altering chemical (Ridilin).  So, if you wanted to be a bus driver, security guard with a gun, or anything else that involves the safety of the public or customers & fellow employees, then having that ADHD treatment in your records eliminates you from the candidate pool for many positions.
When only cops have guns, it's called a "police state".

linking to ammoland doesn't make this any more credible.

This still deserves some skepticism, imo.

I guess it could possibly be a fabricated story if you have a huge tin foil hat handy, but not likely. Consider the following would have had to been fabricated, not to mention multiple New York news and media outlets, among others decided to print a story that has no merit or credible references.

1) New York talk show host Tom Bauerle interviewed attorney Jim Tresmond for nearly eight minutes that was made public (link below). The attorney is representing two of the clients, and the attorney confirmed everything firsthand. Reposting audio interview with attorney: http://www.wben.com/topic/play_window.php?audioType=Episode&audioId=6319907

2) The writer for Ammoland wrote in his article that he spoke directly with attorney Jim Tresmond, who confirmed everything firsthand.

Seems a little over the top to think that the interview with attorney Jim Tresmond of the Tresmond Law Firm in Hamburg never occurred or was fabricated IMO. I could only imagine his response/action of someone quoting lies about him and fabricating an entire interview with a fictional character. Just seems a little bit much to not be a valid story.

I'm merely suggesting that having two sources that are each infowar and what is essntially a blog isn't necessarily definitive proof of anything.  I'm not saying its total bunk, what I am saying is assuming its real, especially from sources like these, is a good way to get duped, possibly now, and possibly in the future.

For instance, I haven't been able to search it yet, but where is fox news on this?  This is easily something they would pick up for one of their programs.  The liberal media would no doubt point to this as successfully stopping a tragedy at some level; where are they?

I'm not even suggesting its fabricated, only that we're mising relevant info as a possibility.

I haven't heard the interview, but the articles feel like part of the story is missing.

xer 21

Case in point:

 http://www.thetruthaboutguns.com/2013/04/robert-farago/housekeeping-keeping-our-powder-dry/#more-216941

It appears tresmond is supplying unofficial, unconfirmable info.

That is, yes, it could all be fabricated, and, at the very least, seems to be missing a bit of info, at least officially.
