B: euthanasia and sucide go hand in hand (only time it isn't is when the person being euthanized is not concious to make that decision).
It's euthanize (if you choose to use it that way), but you completely missed the point. Regardless, just for clarification and information...
A: Oregon and Washington have enacted death with dignity laws and there are many hospices that assist the terminally ill with end of life choices.
B: They do not go "hand in hand" and it's not a matter of arguing semantics, there are separate and very different definitions/classifications. But basically, euthanasia is an act of mercy and suicide an act of desperation. Not really sure what you're getting at with a person who is "not conscious"...Terminating the life of someone that's unconscious is murder. Perhaps you meant people in a vegetative state? Well, "pulling the plug" on a patient diagnosed as brain dead or withholding treatment on those with DNR's is neither suicide nor euthanasia. It's a passive act to allow natural death.
I imagine you might want to come back with how people with a signed DNR are committing suicide. If thats the case, read up on death with dignity, right to die, Terri Schiavo, Nancy Cruzan, and Karen Quinlan, then start a thread in "Off Topic".
