CC Reciprocity Just Missed?
« on: April 18, 2013, 12:39:12 PM »
Just wondering if my understanding on this is correct...

Did we just miss having the ability to CC in all states (including Hawaii) by 3 votes (failed 57-43)?

Assuming it is not much of an issue (if you pass a background check, take a test, etc) to get an out-of-state CC permit in places like Arizona even as a Hawaii resident, would Hawaii have been forced to honor that permit?

Wondering how sick to feel about just missing, or to be encouraged by the fact that it was that close.  I'm assuming we wouldn't have to eat the background check expansion stuff to get the CC reciprocity, but not sure how it works.

no
the amendment for cc failed
the main bill which it was to be attached to was dead after the NICS amendment failed
and this is in the senate only too
so even if the NICS amendment passed, and the cc amendment passed, the senate bill never would've made it through the house
in other words, it was not close at all
curious though that it was so close on that amendment
