Well that's the thing, we all know the local shops are selling for an increased price and most of us can understand they have to increase it a bit to cover the cost of rent and employees.  I think most of us are laughing/pissed at the guys in the classified section selling used and worn guns for 50-100% more then the local shops are selling for new (which have the same guns in stock!)!
right, some of the ads were making Honolulu Firearms look cheap.

The market of supply and demand will tell each seller if they can succeed or fail with their price postings. I saw a Glock 17 for sell for the same price that I was asking. not three days ago, and I figured that I would give it a try and see if I could get the same price, especially since it came from the lgs the same day as the posting. And yes I was actually able to get that price for the item, why, because the buyer actually wanted a two tone pistol.

I understand what the OP was trying to get at, but when it comes down to it, it is the individual person that sees the value in the item. I seem to remember a posting back in January that one post actually lambasted local gun stores for raising rates on items, and that some members actually wanted them to disclose what the store's individual costs were for those items. Are we now required to post our actual buying costs and then discount from there forward before we put them up for sale?? Maybe we just should form a dedicated pricing chart that all members must abide by when we try to sell our items. I do not mean to be a smart ass, but this could easily get out of hand.

I do appreciate all the help that each forum members imparts in helping to educate me on this important, and fun, 2a right that we all were born with.

There's one point I'd like to make.  This is NOT GunBroker-Hawaii, it's NOT AMMO-R-US, and it's NOT GREGSLIST_FOR_FIREARMS!  This is the 2aHawaii forum: Hawaii's Firearm, Shooting, and Hunting Community.

The Classified Boards are a convenience provided by the forum operators to help community members find things they need or offer things others need.  As the rules state, The transaction is between the interested buyer(s) and the seller (or traders).  If the main attraction for you here is the classifieds, then maybe you aren't really part of the 2A community?  Maybe you just LIKE guns and are looking to score sweet deals on hard-to-find firearms, accessories, and ammo?

Whatever your primary reason to be here, it should jive with the stated objective of the forum.  If it doesn't, then gripes are sorely misplaced.

This is a valuable source of information and support for those of us looking to protect our 2nd amendment rights.  It can also be a valuable means of locating difficult to find equipment or shooting supplies.  Let's not make that feature the primary reason we are here.

It's easy to lose sight of what's important when greed, fear, and frustration are running rampant.  I suggest we all look at the forum as a GIFT from the OPS to the community.  We should all treat it as such and be grateful for this valuable resource and all the wisdom and experience our members represent.

let he without sin cast the first stone...... KK you do NOT qualify to make this post since you yourself did the same thing. nuff said.

What are you talking about?

This post is about people that cry like pussies when someone tells them that they're charging too much for something.

Show me 1 solitary instance where I whined about someone telling me I'm charging too much.

I didn't think so.

So if you are just talking out of your ass, keep your comments to yourself.

Remember before you type furiously.......... Would you say what you type to that person's face?

Absolutely, anyone wants to talk to me face to face, I'm in.

I know it's sort of a weird outlook on the situation, but I see the temporary high prices as a good sign.

Those new gun owners that are trying to sell will have to take a good hard look at any gun control laws when they can't sell their firearms at anything but a loss.

The longer this hike in prices lasts, the more people who just can't sell will decide to keep their guns.  If they do sell at an inflated price, it will be to someone not in the know, like a still panicking new gun buyer.

So now the number of gun owners has swelled.  Inflated prices are annoying, but good for the cause.

that's silly.  In my opinion, the anonymity of the internet is what makes forums fun.  no pretenses, more truthful expression, and figuring out how to work with that.

as long as no one gets takes things to seriously, i think a little more openess makes this a better place.

Xer,  well said.  but it all hinges on that last sentence in you post.

Agree with your initial thread post.  This was more of a general comment.  Have fun and don't take things too seriously, except when you're purchasing something.

I think that the OP is just expressing his feelings, which is his right, and he is doing it in a proper way.

He clearly stated that we should all follow the forum rules, and not to repond in a negative manner.

If you feel offended by the price points, just don't buy it.

The same should be said here, If you don't like what is being said, move on.

We're so politically correct that no one can tell the truth without hurting anyone's feelings.

This is why we as a country allow terrorists to come to America and plan attacks on U.S. soil and everybody is afraid to say "kick all those bastards out of the country"
