lots of stuff for sale on 2a now....
i just want to revisit this topic and say alot of these sales on 2a are newbie posts and well. There needs to be a flag thread or something for the  benefit of the forum members. Am i out of line for stating this? Or how about a anonymous thread without saying the obvious but key words that subtly lets us know when we see it??? Huh what  about that. Like " hey  watch out for all the speed bumps at the top get like 8 of them".  ;D

Another forums I go to requires at least 10 posts before being able to post in the classified section. This allows them to get to know the community better and prevents the 1 post wonder looking to make a quick sell.

Most forums work this way.

But what usually happens is they post 10 stupid posts just to raise their count.

ahh this makes sense so if ten is to easy then 25 should be a good start then.

So, 25 stupid, one-word or icon posts is better than 10?

I would suggest a user has to register and wait a certain length of time before being able to start a WTS ad.  They can participate in other Classifieds, but they can not start their own for maybe 2 weeks?  30 days?  That makes more sense than using the number of posts.   ;D
When only cops have guns, it's called a "police state".

Maybe they should sign up and say what they would specifically like to post.  Then wait two weeks and come back and see if what they are going to post is OK to post.  Once they are OK to post they can post, but then they have to come back again to make sure what they posted was what they initially said they were going to post.   How does that work?     HPD style!

There are many sites that deter BS quota posts by requiring mod approval for them to count. It's a lot of work...

Personally, I just choose to deal with people who've put up some "quality" posts that contribute to the community. It doesn't matter how good a deal is...I'd rather spend my money with people who are going to be around (and actually supports 2A) instead of some "hit and run" seller.

And I still see stupid people.

I don't see how this really matters. Let's say a "newbie" (which we all were at one point) joins just to try to sell something...who cares? Either buy it or don't buy it. Maybe that one and only post that they post is that something that you have been hoping someone would come on here and sell forever. Generally speaking, most of us put two values on our guns, the first is the actual cost of the gun and the second is the emotional value we place on our stuff. All of the LGS around here purchase items, mark them up and sell them to us. Buying from a private seller is really no different. Based on our preferences and what not, we all think different things are worth different amounts. For example, I wouldn't buy an AK for 50 bucks. I don't like how they feel or how they shoot. It is just my preference. I guess all that I am trying to say is that the one post seller is not really hurting anything...either buy or don't.

Now I think I am off to X-ring to see a man about a AR build (I'm a Soldier, that platform is what I know and comfortable with)!   :shaka: :shaka:

I get the buy or don't buy I guess my biggest issue is the sellers ettiquet and manner in which they come across.

exactly
and if a one time poster has 12 posts because of "BTT" posts, it's up to the buyer to decide whether or not to buy from that seller

Supply is slowly catching up with demand as the "rush to buy before it is banned" dies down = prices are coming down.  Just look at the availability of PMAGs and pricing close to pre-panic buying.

Should have some great deals for firearms soon . . .  :geekdanc:
