Only because there was no choice for "congress already has too many controls in place and should do away with some existing laws."

You know they will spin it in favor of the 6% that did not say leave it alone. It is almost like the BBC news report on guns in America, they cited Moveon.org data and spokesperson showing that the country was fully behind the removal of guns from America.

Well...not necessarily terrorists, but in the language of Obamaspeak, they could be labeled "folks who don't care about the senseless deaths that happened at Newtown and other gun violence events".  LOL
I still remember someone asked one of the senators about how the temporarily failed gun bill would have addressed "the problem", and they didn't answer.  Instead, they simply held up a picture of a slain child.  That's not only avoiding the question, but exploiting the senseless death of a child....  They are good at that.
I translate their comment as "I don't know how it would help, but here's a picture of a dead child, so we have to do something based on this picture".

Congressional action on guns
April 25, 2013

What should Congress do about gun control?
Leave federal gun laws as they are (95%, 30,179 Votes)
Expand background checks, ban assault weapons and limit the capacity of magazines (3%, 839 Votes)
Only expand background checks (2%, 748 Votes)
Total Voters: 31,766

The problem with this poll and most likely the others with similar numbers representing the opposite- those Obama et al cite- is how they sampled.  Who voted in this poll?  It's far from a random sample of the population for sure.  I would certainly say "of those who voted, %95 were in favor of leaving gun laws the way they are"...but again- what are the demographics and views of those who voted?

I like it, even with these shortcomings.  Sure is opposite to Obamaspeak.

Online polls are inherently unscientific.  Most of them state so, if not when you take it, at least when the results are presented.

Anyone who uses this type of poll to support their position would be seen in my eyes as grasping at straws!!
When only cops have guns, it's called a "police state".

Yep...and could make "us" (or anyone who uses these results) sound as ridiculous at "them".   but having said that- I still think a census vs a sample- although impossible- would show it's closer to this PBS result than the Obamaspeak numbers....but that's just based on folks I personally know, or how I "hope" others would vote...

It's like the old internet joke where you post a picture of something, and say, "Here is a picture of Teddy Roosevelt riding a moose.  Your argument is invalid."  Except they're stupid enough to be serious, and some voters are stupid enough to follow that logic.
