Great pistol, you'll be happy with it. Congrats
Give them nothing. But take from them, everything

Sweet.  Great gun.  But why a compact and not a Glock 17?  Maybe its me but i like the longer barrel and bigger frame, easier to shoot straight.

The Glock 19 is a great pistol.

Big enough to be very accurate but small enough to use as a CCW.

Legendary reliability and simplicity.

Good choice.

Glock 19 is a great all around pistol. I have a Gen 4 Glock 34 and two Gen 4 Glock 17s. I would've gotten a 19 before a second 17 if I could carry concealed. Even so, I'll be getting a 19 later this year.

GLOCK 19's are the gateway drugs for 9mm.  You will not stop until you have another Glock, and another, and another!

Just look at DRCK1000 comments.  He wanted to say good choice but he got envious so he will be purchasing a G-LOCK 19 as well! LOL

Nice choice!

I don't like glocks. But glocks like me.

By that I mean, even though I don't care for them I find them really easy to shoot.

Try handle or better yet shoot it to confirm if you like it before you buy it. There is a shooting fair coming up on Fathers Day weekend (June 15-16) and it would be a good place to try it. Otherwise the HRA Fun Shoot is also a good place to try.

I tried handling the Glock and ended up getting the XD9 instead. Check what works with your hands.

I agree that the 9mm and the smaller size being good choices though.
I think, therefore I am armed.

I love my Glock 22. I bought a 9mm barrel for it and I am sure I would love that too, but alas, I can not find magazines for it  :-[.

Glocks are great guns...you will like it. I may suggest that you buy a grip for it...sometimes, the frame gets a little slick...esp. if you are a sweater like me.

Congrats and enjoy your Glock.

Can't go wrong, IMO the 19 is the PERFECT size, unless of course you have yeti hands.

The 19 is a great choice.  It's the jack of all trades.  Range gun, carry gun, home defense etc.  Try to handle one first though.  Some people don't like the feel of a glock grip, I love it though.  I have a 17 and it fits like a glove, while my pinky kind of hangs off the bottom of the 19 unless I get a good tight grip.

First off, welcome to the site :shaka:

Glock 19, as most agree, good start

However, being that this will be your first pistol and new to the site, have you got your handgun saftey course completed?
Just incase you are not aware, you will need a Affidavit showing completion of a saftey course to apply for a handgun permit.
If you got that squared away, get ready for the fun handgun application process :shake:
