Is it legal: Buy online 14.5" barrel unmodified to get perma pinned in HI (Read 3677 times)

Why I ask is, I see a lot of 14.5" barrels being sold already perma pinned, but I would want a low-profile gas block + a different muzzlebrake.

I read somewhere that as long as you don't have the barrel installed to anything, it's legal. Work internet is kryptonite to my google-fu.  :'(

As you know, IANAL, but to the best of my knowledge, this is correct.

What combination are you looking to get your hands on? There are lots of companies out there who can hook you up before shipping it off.

Well I have this huge crush on Vltor right now. Vltor gas blockhttp://www.vltor.com/gas-blocks.htm and Vltor compensator http://www.vltor.com/compensators.html would be dead sexy. Thinking of trying out a 14.5" mid-length for kicks!

I also believe this is correct.
