I appreciate the looks of a cylinder in a frame. It looks flat out cool!
I used to have several older Colt double-action revolvers ie. Police Positives, Army Special, Detective Special etc., but sold them. The only revolvers I have left are three Smith and Wesons.
My Model 19 is a very good target gun when using target semi-wadcutters. I don't consider myself a good handgun shooter, but will consistently get one inch to one and a half inch groups at 25yds. I only shoot only 38 Special loads - target, regular velocity and +Ps. through my Smith Model 19.
The Model 36 Chief's Special was purchased since it was the quintessential private investigator's gun from alot of shows I watched growing up in the 70's.
Had a S&W Model 29 years ago, but sold it since I couldn't shoot it well with full power 44 Mag loads. This prompted me to acquire anothet N frame revolver, but in 357. Bought a Model 27 with the well-balanced 5" barrel. This gun I can shoot respectful groups with. It's a man-sized gun weighing 45 ounces or so. However, the weight helps to soak up recoil from stiff 357 loads. There you have it! My revolver show and tell!
