Awesome!  Looks like a super nice day of shooting!  Saw a lot of clear blue sky!  Thank you for posting the video!

From your video, looked like the muzzle rise of the 6" GP100 looked noticeably less than the 4" S&W.  Did it feel noticeably different?  While would expect the muzzle rise to be less with the 6" gun, something I never really tried side-by-side.  I also assumed that Rugers are generally heavier than S&W revolvers in the same barrel length, but I have never compared myself.  My 686+ is a 6" barrel and it's a nice and soft shooter with .38 SPL and makes .357 Mag pretty mild as well.  Excellent for a teaching revolver.  I had initially wanted a 4" barrel gun, but 6" is what they had in stock when I was ready to buy.

I would have done a comparison with same length barrels but I don't have a 4" GP100, I have a 6" and 3" but the 3" is fixed sights so I thought the nearest one to make a comparison was my 6" GP100.  next time i'll compare it with the 3".  I should have just brought out all 3 this past weekend.
I did notice a significant difference between the muzzle rise of the 6" vs 4" probably due to it being more front heavy in the 6"
I do like both revolvers.

I might have to get another S&W just to get a fair comparison.  maybe in 44magnum.   ;)

I'll offer up my 686+ 6" barrel to compare against your 6" GP100.  No wait, you can't use mine.  You'll have to get a S&W .357 Mag in 6" barrel of your own!  ;D

I can certainly see the front heavy aspects of the 6" revolver.  I mean I've toyed with the idea of getting a snubby revolver in the 2-3" barrel range, but just haven't.  If I did buy a .44 Mag revolver, I'm gonna start with a 6" barrel.  I will soon have a Redhawk .44 Mag with 7-1/2" barrel though.

I have a 4" GP100 (my very first revolver) and you have a 4" 586. The pic I posted earlier is my 6" 586 and you have a 6" GP100. Revolver day awaits.

replaced the front sights on my SBH Hunter and Redhawk with fiber optic HiViz sights
I already did my GP100 and like how it shoots now better than the stock iron sights
all three of these sights use a plunger pin for the sight, so it was very easy to change
now I just have to go and shoot them!   :geekdanc:

Definitely three revolvers to be proud of, especially since they were your Dad's .
Yes, nice Python
The S&W with the dull finish must be a Model 28 Highway Patrolman. The HPs have become very popular (and more costly) in the last few years as collectors and shooters discovered they are mechanically identical to S&W's top of the line .357 magnum, the Model 27, but with less cosmetic features to lower the cost for law enforcement. My favorite .357 magnum revolver to shoot is my 4" Highway Patrolman.

Yeah, I'm pretty proud of all of them.

I'll definitely bring the 28 to the revolver day.  It's still in the original box with the asking price written on it.  Not sure when my dad bought it, but based on the price, it was a while ago.   ;D

Seriously considering the purchase of a Taurus 692. What I’m looking for is some honest thoughts from Taurus owners. I’ve spoke to a lot of people who really talk down on them but when I ask what they have owned or even shot they have mostly developed their opinion based on what they have heard. I’m looking for people that own Taurus Wheel guns to give me their advice. The 692 sounds like a cool concept.
