Help Finding Steel Cabinet
« on: June 24, 2013, 10:32:59 AM »
I'm looking for a cabinet similar to this. This one is about 18" x 18" but it can be of different dimensions such as 17" x 10". I want to pick it up locally. So far I searched Fisher, Office Depot, Sears, Walmart, Lowes, and Sports Authority. Where else should I try?

I also looked at safes but it was too expensive just to hold ammo. I also saw this which wasn't too bad. http://www.stack-on.com/categories/security-cabinets-gun-cabinets/products/73

Not sure which Sports Authority you went to, but the one in Kapolei has (3) three different sizes of Stack-On safes.  Not to bad a price if you catch it during one of there 20% off one item deals.  Not sure about the dimensions though.  There's also Home Depot.

They had this and some short cabinet types.  Not really close to the dimensions that you mentioned though.  Good luck

The one from Home Depot is too big. It has to half the size. I checked out Waikele and Town Sports Authority but it was like $500. A little too much for ammo storage.

Im in the market for the same thing (strictly for ammo)  and like you, didnt find anything suitable.

I like the Stack On you linked to, and for $150'ish is a good deal.

Just gotta see if anything is local, Sports authority seems the way to go for Stack-On.

Post what you end up with. :shaka:

Maybe some used locker room lockers from craigslist?  Most of the steel storage cabinets I've seen are 36" wide double door models.  Could check with Hawaii Stationery too.  Alexander Brothers and D&D Furniture also have used office stuff from time to time and they sell new too.

This is the one types I was referring to not the expensive ones.  Like I said they Sports Authority in Kapolei had (3) different sizes from what I recall.  I would call to confirm.

And no, it is not listed on the Sports Authority web site.

Got this one @ the Ward SA on the last %20 sale. I just built some quick wood shelves inside.

I stand corrected... I guess it was on the SA website.

Try Fisher Hawaii on Cooke St.

I bought a nice cabinet, and even added an extra shelf.  They have all the big office furniture in the back of the store.
