I think I must be losing it cause i can't for the life of me find LSA!

Armalite suggests a number of cleaners/solvents, lubricants, and preservatives/Protectants for their ARs and I can not find LSA anywhere.

I can find milspec documents and other info about LSA but its all informative.....there's nothing about procuring it.....unless I'm going nuts. Here's a rundown of info I found:

Its known as

Light LSA -" lubricant semifluid (automatic weapons)"

Aka "lubricant small arms"

Aka "lubricating oil, semi fluid" - (current mil nomenclature)

Aka "LSA weapons oil medium"

On 2/25/1987 the DOD forewent LSA for CLP (with teflon - but no Teflon after 1998)

LSA was then reactivated as milspec after 9/15/2011 and is still milspec for all weaponry for all depts and agencies of the DOD

It's milspec code is MIL-L-46000C

Its NATO code number is 0-158 (6.7)

But where can I buy it!!??  Anyone know?
Armalite indicates it is commercially available and likely via more than one vendor.....but I can't find it anywhere.

You can use a light motor oil, in fact, Google Ed's Red for cleaning.
I've been using ATF on BCGs and grease on the buffer spring.

i thought it might be a generic term but there is a milspec and NATO code for a specific formulation for specific requirements. So turns out there is an actual product out there with a few different designations like I listed, but I can't find anything under any name. What kind grease on the buffer spring?

btw....ATF? Isnt that real loose? Dont it splatter around when u fire and then dry up real fast?
