Macdonald is a good fighter
made BJ Penn look silly.
should be a close one,.
but i like Elenburger bc he's a strong finisher, but Macdonald has some great cardio and he trains with one of  the best in the business GSP.

great card overall, and its free!

I never was a BJ fan.
His last fight was a perfect example of hard work beating talent that doesnt work hard
I dont like Rory either
BJ is super talented
He just has zero cardio
If he had finishing power past the first round, he would be great

Instead of listing bjs many finishes outside the first round I'm just gonna say this. Diego Sanchez

Rory won with size advantage n pointfighting. Bj comes from a time when fighters fought not jus tried to score points.

As in like a slugger (Jack Dempsey) vs boxer (Gene Tunney) sort or way?

As in, he enjoys kicking the shit out of some punk.

If he wasn't fighting professionally, he'd be fighting for fun.

^^^ That. I think that guys can have fun with some violence in a very controlled kind of way.

I'm not espousing thug or bully behavior but I really enjoyed sparring when I was attending karate in college.

Unfortunately, the body doesn't heal as fast nowadays.

I'm not doubting BJ's talent
like i said, he's super talented
he's won several belts.  and has achieved world recognition for his talent.
and he could most likely kick my ass in the ring.
but this thread ain't about him.   :shaka:

I think this started because Rory kicked the crap out of BJ.

In BJ's defense, he walks around at 155 (non fight weight)
Rory walks around at 190.

They met at 170 and by fight night, Rory looked all of 190.

BJ's problem, it you want to call it a problem is that he'll take any fight at any weight with anyone.
That and he just loves to bang.

If he would have stayed at 155 his whole career, and stayed with his world class BJJ, he might have never lost a fight in the UFC.

I don't know if its his trainers fault or he made the decision, but he stayed on his feet and banged 90% of the time, yet he is one of the most talented BJJ players in the world.

Either way, mad props to him for all he's achieved.
