Came off a Bushmaster Upper. Not a quality issue.
Forging by Brass Aluminum Works (Square)
It was very bizzare. First time I seen this.
Guess how it happened!

Overpressure cartridge?
that would've been the logical first guess
but speed said he's never seen it before
i am assuming he's seen overpressure before

Looks like the buffer struck it. That would mean the upper and lower weren't being held together.

Sonic screwdriver as a projectile?

Someone try shoot a blackout round from wrong upper?
-
nope none of those senarios!!!
Let you guys know wed.

Did this happen with hand loads ? . It could of been hot loads
-
My guess would be running the thing without a buffer. But you would think if that were the case it would be pretty obvious something is wrong when you go to chamber a round and the bolt doesn't go forward on its own.

.300BLK in a 5.56 upper?

12 year old girl shooting. somehow she was pressing down the fwd assist. it broke off the paw and lodged itself between the wall and bolt carrier! The bolt was jammed halfway back......Lower was fine.
