CCW is legal in Florida but not within an establishment where alcohol is serve.

Bars are gun free zones in FL.

Pennsylvania allows open carry or concealed everywhere except Philadelphia where open carry is forbidden.

The news should really call it for what it is....Violent hate crime against gays by registered Democrat radical Islamic terrorist.

But instead, the MSM will spin this for more gun control even though this happened in a "gun-free zone".

Of course, white Baptists are to blame for this.

Story in Drudge says ISIS announced targeting FL 3 days ago.  Per Hellery and Barry, never let a good crisis go to waste.
Summer 2016, time is getting  very short to get what you need for any AR/AK stuff.

Shooter ID'd as Omar Mateen, suspected Islamic radicalist.

... how will liberals try to spin this one?

Already the "assault weapon" rhetoric us flying freely.  Usually combined with a dipassionate "prayer" for the victims and their loved ones.

Attacked by terrorists?  Blame the guns.  Crazy guy taking psychtropic drugs to counter schizophrenia loses his mind and goes on a rampage?  Again, must have been the guns.

Sanders comes out and says I always said we should be semi-automatic firearms completely!

All this being said, it's a terrible event and I'm saddened by the loss of life for the survivors and their families.

Cynical, yes, but I do think the end justifies the means to the leftists..................

Why is at that there is always a call for a ban on firearms in America everytime there is a shooting like this? There were no calls in Brussels. No calls in the Ivory Coast.
Now we may see the LGBT movement join the anti gun campaign. All the while out "anti-terror" campaign falls on the wayside.
We can expect more govt. surveillance and the erosion of our rights. The 2A is the first on the chopping block. The 4th is next....

Where is the hue and cry for "a few commonsense muslim safety regulations"? How about banning all "assault muslims"? I mean, who really needs an assault muslim? No one needs an assault muslim for hunting! It was never the intent of the founders with the First Amendment to protect "battlefield muslims of war". All the amendments of the Bill of Rights are subject to commonsense regulation. Over 90% of Americans, and over 65% of NRA members agree that universal background checks for muslims is simply commonsense safety regulation. Who could be opposed to that? Only people with no commonsense, right? We need muslim-free zones! We need to hound our legislators into passing muslim control legislation, because once that is enacted, we will we then be forever free of muslim acts of violence and terror against "infidels" (i.e. every single person who disagrees with anything they believe). Okay. That's fixed now. Back to your regularly scheduled programming.

Would be a good thing if they would join the ranks in defending the Second and makes sense more then not. Would be a bad thing if they started screaming for gun control. I mean wasn't it them that used that same set of constitution rights to get married and to use whichever bathroom that wasn't the busiest?

As I've posted before relating to this topic there is support for firearm rights amongst the LGBT community, but it is not any more uniform than it is among the straight people or white people or black people or asian people or young people or old people, etc. communities.

The Coalition for More Civil Liberties, which is actively working against the Gavin Newsom initiative (background check for ammo purchases, "assault weapon" ban, etc.) in California includes several "gay" organizations and people, including Chris Cheng as a co-chairman. The Pink Pistols, a gay firearm rights organization, has filed amicus briefs in a couple of legal cases involving the right for bear arms in public (CCW).

While you'd like to think that any group that was particularly subject to violent attacks and other crime due to their "identity" would be particularly supportive of self-defense and the use of firearms therein, we need look no further than the black community (during the civil rights movement days), or "women" now (Moms Demand, etc.) to see that such is not the case.

Its on TMZ so im not sure how much reality is involved but that being said if any of its true, it shows they may have had a forewarning of something happening.

http://www.tmz.com/2016/06/12/pride-parade-assault-rifles-shooter-arrest (http://www.tmz.com/2016/06/12/pride-parade-assault-rifles-shooter-arrest)

"A man with assault rifles was arrested early Sunday after telling cops his destination was the Pride parade later today in West Hollywood ... law enforcement sources tell TMZ.
Our sources say Santa Monica PD responded to a prowler call and found the man nearby the house that was allegedly targeted.
We're told he informed cops he was on his way to meet a friend for the Pride parade 10 miles away in WeHo.  At a point cops searched his car and our sources say they found multiple assault rifles with a number of loaded magazines that were stacked and taped together --  a marker for someone looking to fire a rapid amount of rounds in rapid succession.  Cops reportedly also found explosives and camouflage gear.
We're told the man has been arrested.
Santa Monica PD will not comment.
We're told the FBI is now involved.  We do not know if cops have a lead on the identity of the "friend" of the man arrested."

Here is a brief news story about a "muslim scholar" who spoke in Orlando in April presenting the argument that muslims must be compassionate toward gays, by which he means the greatest form that compassion can take is to kill them, to "get rid of them now". And no, it's not a Saturday Night Live skit, it's unfortunately real. When asked about having a speaker that could be interpreted as inciting violence against gays a spokesman for the muslim organization sponsoring the speaker and talk invoked his right to free speech. They should have asked him if that right to free speech extended to people who wanted to criticize islam or its "prophet" via words or cartoons...

America needs STRONGER GUN LAWS like they have in FRANCE.

With such laws, it would be close to IMPOSSIBLE for mass shootings to occur, terrorist or no terrorist.

For example, as far as I know (and I may be mistaken), there have been no mass shooting in PARIS in the 21 century.

Again, thanks to very strong regulations.

I've been following this story since getting a notification around midnight last night. Please don't think of my comments as being heartless or not having any compassion or anything like that. But so far, what I've come to understand is that our leaders and people for gun control in the US and around the world. Would rather have us PRAY while being shot, instead of fighting back to try and stop the threat. Also, the FBI/CIA/Police and other officials only react to these situations, rather than focus more on PRO-Active measures. If I'm wrong, please let me know in what way I am wrong. :-\

P.S. This shooter was a GS4 Government contractor that was investigated by the FBI.  :wtf:

Mateen was investigated by the FBI in the past, according to Assistant Special Agent-in-Charge Ron Hopper. He first caught their attention in 2013 when he co-workers said he made inflammatory reports about terrorist ties. Agents at that time investigated the reports and even interviewed Mateen twice, but "didn't find substance to his claims."

In 2014, he claimed to have ties to an American-born suicide bomber, but agents only found minimal connections between the two and decided Mateen did not present a specific threat at that time.

Look like he had a lot in common with Hellery, both investigated by FBI.  No wonder she doesn't blame the terrorist only the inanimate object.
Think if this islam animal did not have firearms, he would have started a fire in a crowded night club which would probably have killed much more as people may not react to smoke in a nightclub as to gunshots.
Hope all who call for gun control get to have dozens of jihadis move next door to them so they can experience  all the "peace" of islam.   Hellery should take in about 12 Syrian males to live with her right now, no questions asked, or shut her pilau mouth.

The killer, whose name I will not use, or ever say, was born in Afghan, of Afghan parents, who immigrated to the United States.

His father published support for the Afghan Taliban, a regime which murders those who don’t share its radical views, and they murdered plenty. The father even said he was running for president of Afghanistan. The bottom line is that the only reason the killer was in America in the first place, was because we allowed his family to come here.

Mir Seddique hosted the “Durand Jirga Show,” which broadcasts from California. It aired on a channel called Payam-e-Afghan.

Several of the videos can be found on Mateen’s YouTube channel.

According to the Washington Post, a phone number and post office box that are displayed on the show were traced back to the Mateen home in Florida.

In the most recent video, Seddique announces his candidacy for Afghan president. In another video, he expresses gratitude toward the Afghan Taliban, while denouncing the Pakistani government.

Where was this guy born? Omar Mateen.

MSM says American Born.

Trump actually says foreign born?

I read he was born in New York in 1986.

The original news reports said he was an American citizen of Afghan descent.  My first impression was  he was born in Afghanistan & became a naturalized citizen.  Can't fault Trump for misreading that vague statement.

That would explain it because all the presidential candidates are rushing out statements in response.

I think the same could be said for the Democrats in Congress, Obama, his administration, Sanders, and especially Clinton.

At least Trump got the perpetrator right, if not his citizenship. All those others I mentioned got the perpetrator totally wrong!  They blamed one of the two guns involved, the NRA, all US gun owners, Christians, and anyone who doesn't agree with the LGBTQ agenda.

By comparison, Trump gets at least an A-minus!

I don't grade truthfulness on a curve.

I don't call someone a liar when they simply didn't have all the facts.  Whether or not he should have waited, not knowing the truth and telling a lie aren't the same thing.

I'm not grading his truthfulness on a curve either.  I'm deducting a few points for trusting the media to report the facts accurately immediately after the shooting.

That is all.

So as it stands, he either knew the shooter was a natural-born U.S. citizen and claimed otherwise, or he didn't know because he trusted the media to accurately report the facts in the wake of a mass shooting.

That makes him either a liar or a moron.

Neither one qualifies for an A-minus in my grading rubric.

Loretta Lynch states that the transcripts of the phone calls between the murderer and law enforcement will be censored/redacted/edited, and the actual audio tapes will not be released, only transcripts. Gee, what could be in there that they don't want anyone to hear? Must be a national security issue. No mention of his reported calls to his wife and reported visits to social media sites. I'd really like to know what he had to say to everyone he spoke to. I guess I'm considered too stupid by the government to make my own mind up about what he said without being turned into a jihadi. Or something. Lies. This shit is unbelievable... it just keeps getting more absurd. Or maybe he said something like "Yes, for my entire adult life I've been a registered Democrat voter [true] and urge everyone to vote for Hillary Clinton in November. allah hu akbar! Okay, I gotta go now and kill more unarmed people with my assault rifle and high capacity magazines while you guys are pushing three hours out there waiting for me to... what exactly? You morons." I KNOW they wouldn't want us to hear that!

Lynch: "Partial Transcript" Of Orlando 911 Calls Will Have References To Islamic Terrorism Removed

http://www.realclearpolitics.com/video/2016/06/19/lynch_partial_transcript_of_orlando_911_calls_will_have_references_to_isis_cut_out.html

LYNCH: Yes, it will be primarily a partial transcript of his calls with the hostage negotiators.

CHUCK TODD: You say partial, what's being left out?

LYNCH: What we're not going to do is further proclaim this man's pledges of allegiance to terrorist groups, and further his propaganda.

CHUCK TODD: We're not going to hear him talk about those things?

LYNCH: We will hear him talk about some of those things, but we are not going to hear him make his assertions of allegiance and that. It will not be audio, it will be a printed transcript. But it will begin to capture the back and forth between him and the negotiators, we're trying to get as much information about this investigation out as possible. As you know, because the killer is dead, we have a bit more leeway there and we will be producing that information tomorrow.

Almost 18 minutes of Obama speaking.

He says we "are going to do" so many things to stop terrorists.  Why the delay?  What's stopping him from already doing all that?

At 6:25, he starts in about the gun used, saying we can't catch all the killers before they kill, but we can do something about the amount of damage they can do.  Politics makes it too easy to do as much damage as possible.  Blah blah blah.

Use emotion, blame the guns, ignore the fact the FBI fumbled the ball and says being as armed as the killers in night clubs defies common sense.

that's about all I can stomach!   The Florida Governor is much more rational.

Even RINO Paul Ryan can't get behind the Obama/Lynch administration whitewashing "editing" of the transcripts of the murderer's calls wherein they edit out/redact all references to islam. I guess they wouldn't want anyone to think that some muslim would do such a thing based upon principles of the religion of peace. Unbelievable.  :wtf:

http://www.foxnews.com/us/2016/06/20/doj-releases-redacted-orlando-gunmans-911-calls.html

'I did the shootings': DOJ releases some redacted transcripts of Orlando killer's phone calls during massacre

House Speaker Paul Ryan called on the Obama administration Monday to "release the full, unredacted transcript" of the Orlando massacre gunman’s 911 calls, slamming the Justice Department’s censoring of all references to Islam as "preposterous."

The redacted transcripts of Omar Mateen’s calls to Orlando Police — made during his assault on the Pulse gay nightclub — included Mateen’s claim of responsibility, as well as identifying himself to police as an Islamic soldier. All other references to ISIS or Islamic State leader Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi were scrubbed clean by the Justice Department.

"Selectively editing this transcript is preposterous," said Ryan, R-Wis., in a statement. "We know the shooter was a radical Islamist extremist inspired by ISIS. We also know he intentionally targeted the LGBT community. The administration should release the full, unredacted transcript so the public is clear-eyed about who did this, and why."

FBI, DOJ release new, full transcript of Orlando shooter's 911 call

Under pressure from Republican leaders, the Justice Department on Monday afternoon reversed itself and released a full, uncensored transcript of the Orlando terrorist's 911 call on the night of the massacre, calling the morning’s furor over omissions in the document “an unnecessary distraction.”

An earlier version of the transcript had deleted the word “Islamic State” and the name of ISIS leader “Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi.” Omar Mateen made the 50-second 911 call in which he claimed responsibility for the terror attack and pledged allegiance to Islamic State's leader at 2:35 a.m. The call came just over a half hour into the June 12 slaughter at gay nightclub Pulse.

“I pledge allegiance to Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi may God protect him [in Arabic], on behalf of the Islamic State,” Mateen says on the new transcript.

LORETTA LYNCH vs. OMAR MATEEN

MATEEN: "I shot up the Pulse Club because I am a member of ISIS."

LYNCH: "No you're not."

MATEEN:"Wait, what? Yes I am..."

LYNCH: "No, this has nothing to do with Muslim terrorism. I have no idea why you did this, but it wasn't radical Islam."

MATEEN: "WHAT!? Did you even read what I told the 911 operator? I gave explicit Quranic justification. This is jihad, a holy crusade against pagans, blasphemers, and homosexuals."

LYNCH: "No, this is definitely not a Muslim thing. You are not a true Muslim, and you defame a great religion by saying so."

MATEEN: "Huh!? Who are you to tell me I'm not a true Muslim!? Islam is literally at the core of everything I do, and we have implemented the truest most literal and honest interpretation of its founding texts, the Quuran. It is my very reason for being."

LYNCH: "Nope. We're still trying to figure out why you did this. I bet it's because of White Men. It's because you were disenfranchised. We're sorry."

MATEEN: "What? Why are you apologizing? I just slaughtered you mercilessly by the dozens. I targeted unwitting civilians and gays - disenfranchisement doesn't even enter into it!"

LYNCH: "Easy access to guns is what drives your anger."

MATEEN: "It's not the guns! We will knife you, hang you, burn you, run you over, and bombs are easy to create in our kitchens! We don't care about the guns! In fact, civilian gun ownership might actually make it difficult for us!"

LYNCH: "Obviously we need to ban all guns. We need to overturn the Second Amendment."

MATEEN: "By Allah, you are a motherless tool! The weapon is not the issue! Our Holy Jihad against you is the only thing that is important!"

LYNCH: "Climate Change is the reason you rage against us. We deserve it."

MATEEN: "WHAT??!? What the hell does Climate Change have to do with this???"

LYNCH: "Because of Climate Change, the oceans will rise by one-tenth of one inch, and that makes you furious...."

MATEEN: (facepalms)

LYNCH: "You see no future for your children because of Climate Change so you strap bombs on them and send them into shopping malls.

MATEEN: "NO DAMMIT. It has NOTHING to do with Climate Change or Gun Control or ANYTHING like that! It is because we follow the teachings of the Prophet Mohammad, who tells us to put all unbelievers to the sword! We are commanded by Allah to kill you all!"

LYNCH: "This is all caused by the fact we bullied gays and transgenders in our past. If we hadn't been so mean, and accepted Bruce Jenner for the amazing woman he was all those years, you would not be trying to kill us. Please forgive us."

MATEEN: "ARE YOU INSANE??? I targeted gays for slaughter! We kill gays the moment we find them! We hang them by their necks any chance we can! Islam hates homosexuality!"

LYNCH: "Listen, it's our fault. We resisted resettling you in our country. We should have given you more welfare and food stamps. We don't blame you for feeling unwelcome and lashing out."

MATEEN: "Seriously, stop taking credit for this! I worked really hard to pull this off, and I'mnot going to let you take it away from me."

LYNCH: "No, we nourished your extremism. We accept full blame."

MATEEN: "OMG, how many people do I have to kill around here to finally get our message across?""

LYNCH: "Gun control will fix this."

How come so many of these "terrorists" are investigated by the FBI and let go? Are the feds doing a terrible job, or is this another manufactured incident that went wrong? Is the redacted part of the phone call where he says the name of the federal agents that talked him into it? Why did it take 3 hours for police to respond? How many patrons were shot by police? This deliberate attempt to muddy the waters reeks of a cover-up.

I assume police responded easier than 3 hours but an actual swat team could take a few hours to respond. When an incident turns from an active shooter to a hostage incident then the need to rush in disappears and more time is given. In that case patrol officers would set up a permitter and wait for swat.

As for the FBI investigation, I don't know any specifics really but I do understand that just because there is reason to investigate doesn't mean there was reason to do much else. Just speculating, but it could have been that for whatever reason the FBI investigated the shooter, there was not enough evidence to warrant taking away his civil rights. Law enforcement might know in their hearts that someone is fishy but absent enough actual evidence they cannot take any action other than monitoring.

They didn't monitor him at all.  If they had flagged him in NICS as a person of interest, maybe they would have been able to establish enough cause for monitoring him when he went to not one, but at least two, gun stores?

I think the FBI failed, just like they did with the SC Church murderer and the Boston Marathon bombers ..... but, I'm just speculating!

It may be that the FBI dropped the ball but sometimes the FBI is between a rock and a hard place. An agent may know this person is dangerous but not have enough probable cause to arrest the individual or deny them of rights. Hard to tell from the limited information available to us. Balancing civil liberties against a concern for the well being of the general population is not easy.

Increased monitoring of this individual, and others, may have made a difference but may not have, it is hard to know anything for certain.

Unsupported, off topic, unrelated BS as usual.  No reports say the FBI had anything like that.

We know what was reported.  The FBI had chances (multiple) and didn't have any effect on the outcome.  There has been no analysis on what ball was dropped, what people were involved, or what might need to change.  What we do know is they were as close to this shooter as several other recent mass murderers and failed to stop the attack.

Maybe you, like most Liberals, want to pass laws that might make us safer, and when they fail, blame the constraints of the system or the lack of funding due to mean Conservatives?

The truth is, they could have had an agent IN THE STORE NEXT TO THE SHOOTER AS HE PAID FOR THE RIFLE, another as he took it to the range to test it, and three more scouring his application for any reason to deny the purchase.  None of it would have mattered, because he did not require that gun from that store to have his plan succeed,  If that purchase was denied, he could have found a private seller or had his wife apply as a straw purchaser.  he could have paid a premium for a stolen black market rifle.  Maybe he could have stolen one from an unlocked police cruiser?

The point is, you can have as much government as you want to say it makes us safer.  it doesn't.  To pretend it does ignores the real problem and avoids effective solutions.

Unsupported, off topic, unrelated BS as usual.  No reports say the FBI had anything like that.

There are literally 20 different ways I can think of expressing your difference of opinion that would be less hostile and insulting. Now, more than any time in Hawaii's 2a history, is the hour that we must put aside petty differences and seek unity or at least decorum. If we fight against ourselves the gun grabbers win.

I think you've misjudged me.

That was not me expressing my opinion (or difference).  That was me telling someone for the umpteenth time to stop posting unsupported BS as if it somehow has relevance to the discussion.  If that makes me look less than cordial, maybe it's because the troll in question refuses to make nice-nice as well.

I agree 99% with the "let's put our best face out there for the public to see", but this falls in the 1% of not letting someone get away with forum tactics that only  divert, confuse, derail and otherwise screw-up almost every thread I want to participate it.  He's like the crazy uncle who thinks he knows it all, has an opinion on everything, and even when proven wrong wants to argue about the color of his socks making him more right than wrong!

I'm not the only one I've seen get frustrated with his incessant arguing, so please, don't single me out  as the bad apple here.

I'll take your comment as intended, though, and try to be less responsive to stupid posts in the future!

You speculated, I then replied with my own speculations on the same topic as you and then you jump down my throat claiming it was unsupported BS and unrelated to the topic.

Double standard there Fap.
