Looking for the general consensus here. How do you feel Trump's stance on 2A is going? I understand that recent events have definitely polarized the climate, however to me he's seeming wishy washy AF. I'm sure someone will provide the " it's all part of his brilliant negotiating strategy" reply.

The deep state wants us disarmed. All the war games the Pentagon have been playing for the past few years predict a future of increasing domestic instability. It's one of the reason they are raising a new generation of door kicking cops that act more like soldiers. Now everyone is a SWAT team.
I think Trump is politically smart and will play the line as much as he can, but at the end of the day he will do the bidding of the deep state. They don't really give anyone a choice.

I'm hoping his comment on "Take the guns now, due process later" was just to troll the dems. They hate him so much that they will reject anything he supports or says.
But what did bother me the most was that Feinstein was smiling ear to ear when he was speaking. That worries me.

It scares me. And being so remote here, we are very easy to cut off from "supplies", thus becoming sheeple very quickly

Senator Feinstein looked giddy sitting next to Trump. This supports the theory that President Trump is a New York Democrat at heart like he was ten years ago. If the Dems get back Congress this November, I expect Trump to roll over like a love sick dog.

Politicians in general have a history of being ..........liars makes me wonder how many were used car salesman before the made the switch in careers. Once in office it's like " thanks for the votes" now let me not address or support any of your issues you elected me to do.

He's wishy washy on everything so it doesn't surprise me in the least bit. It's disappointing, but certainly not surprising.

Trump's position depends on who was the last person in the room at the time. In 2017, it was a battle between Bannon, Kushner, and Priebus to be the last aide standing. Priebus was pushed out by Bannon and Kushner. Bannon was planning to push out Kushner when Roy Moore was elected but that didn't happen so out he went. Kelly effectively kicked out Kushner so that leaves Kelly and Miller to influence the President. Sounds like they're not able to do so completely these days.

Interesting. But what does he have to hit back with?
I heard the logic behind his stances on trade deals. Come in with an extreme, almost unreasonable, position and stick to it for a while. Then the other side will view less as a win and where the initial target was likely all along. In this case, I guess I don’t see the end game.

On Wednesday, Trump shocked observers during a televised discussion with bipartisan lawmakers by appearing to endorse extreme gun control measures.
“Take the guns first. Go through due process second,” Trump said. “I like taking the guns early.”
Trump, who has publicly changed his mind on other key issues, also urged Republican lawmakers not to be "afraid" of the powerful gun lobby and openly entertained more gun restrictions.

“Seize the firearms, then go through due process.” That is exactly what gun-grabbers want to hear. :D
However, avoiding due process should be enough to throw up red flags from civil rights organizations.
If not, it will give pro-gun organizations a reason to challenge the law “if” it is ever passed.
Then, in the mid-term elections Republicans can sound tough on crime, and have given the gun grabbers crumbs.
In the 2020 presidential elections, Trump will be able to say, “We tried to pass gun control in 2018, it didn’t work.” :thumbsup:

Are we going to completely make judgments based on what a politician says, or what a politician does?
They all "support the Second Amendment...", so there's no difference between them? Which ones actually introduce and vote for obvious infringements?
Obama SAID "If you like your doctor, you can keep your doctor, and if you like your plan, you can keep your plan". What did he actually do?

This sounds like increased restrictions to determine who are the legal owners and who are those that they want to take the guns away from like the Florida shooter. Manchin said that no one should be able to walk up to a gun show booth and walk away without questions asked.

The murderer in Florida was NOT an illegal gun owner. He was a legal gun owner. He passed background checks to purchase his firearms legally. As have virtually all the "mass public murder" killers except for a couple that stole the guns they used.
Manchin is borrowing the term "gun sense" from Bloomberg's astroturf "Moms Demand Action for Gun Sense in America". Apparently Manchin, or someone in the propaganda machine, has decided that the phrase "commonsense gun safety regulations" is no longer effective. "Moms Demand" always claims "we are not against guns", but they clearly are against anyone anywhere at any time possessing guns. Other than that...
Note Manchin also says "changing the loopholes of commercial sales of guns is a good first step". There are no "loopholes of commercial gun sales". Commercial gun sales are already strictly regulated, in detail, by existing laws. His bill extends those rules to private gun sales, such as if you want to sell a gun to your cousin or neighbor, you would both have to go to an FFL and pay to go through the background check (yeah, doesn't apply to Hawaii where the fascists have already instituted registration, which is the next necessary step in order to keep track of all gun "transfers"). Then Manchin uses the "good first step" to characterize such an expansion of government control, without saying what the succeeding "steps" would be. We all know what those steps would be. Look at California, New Jersey, New York, Hawaii, Rhode Island, Connecticut, and Massachusetts for examples of how the slippery slope begins. We all know how it ends.

I have a question about age verification. I bought bullets from Everglades Ammunition. Before checking out, I click on the Agree button that says
All ammunition buyers must:
- Be at least 21 years of age for handgun ammunition and 18 years old for rifle ammunition
I don't recall ever providing age verification when I set up my account. What is the penalty to the seller if I lied?
