It's on 1/20 and should be an interesting one to see. Their anti 2a gov said that no weapons are allowed in a certain area (can't remember). He declared an emergency.
So FPC was 1 org who brought a lawsuit against it and lost.
Fences have been erected to encircle that area (the gun free zone). Looks like a building and it's lawn.

Two or three of the anti bills were slammed through and passed in the dark, out of the public eye, already....
Supposed according to VA law enacted in 2012, the governor can not restrict 2A rights by declaring an emergency. The courts are in the wrong as well as the governor. Sadly there is no time for the appeals process before the rally
YouTube is suppressing and demonetizing all conservative reports on these actions.
Practicing your 1st amendment rights inside a cage just doesn't sound right at all...
TYRANNY is in progress. :grrr: :grrr: :grrr: :grrr: :grrr: :grrr: :grrr: :grrr:
Democrat gun grabbers from all states are watching close how this will play out.
Hawaii will be a lost cause, they already ignore us.

Democrat Gov. Ralph Northam’s plan to ban guns from Richmond’s Capitol Square is illegal.
What makes it illegal is Virginia’s SB 245, which became law in 2012. SB 245 was a bipartisan bill restricting the governor’s power during emergencies. It was not only bipartisan, but every member of the Virginia House voted for it. It was not controversial. That vote was 100-to-0 in favor. Gov. Northam himself, a state senator at the time, voted for it.
SB 245, codified at § 44-146.15 with the rest of Virginia’s Emergency Services and Disaster Law, says:
Nothing in this chapter is to be construed to… Interfere with dissemination of news or comment on public affairs… Empower the Governor, any political subdivision, or any other governmental authority to in any way limit or prohibit the rights of the people to keep and bear arms as guaranteed by Article I, Section 13 of the Constitution of Virginia or the Second Amendment of the Constitution of the United States, including the otherwise lawful possession, carrying, transportation, sale, or transfer of firearms except to the extent necessary to ensure public safety in any place or facility designated or used by the Governor, any political subdivision of the Commonwealth, or any other governmental entity as an emergency shelter or for the purpose of sheltering persons.” (Emphasis added.)
The last clause (“except to the extent…”) preserves the governor’s power to restrict possessing and carrying firearms in a “place or facility” used “as an emergency shelter or for the purpose of sheltering persons.” This allows Gov. Northam to prevent guns inside emergency shelters used in places like Virginia Beach during hurricane season. It does not allow him to disarm otherwise law-abiding gun owners peacefully attending a rally in Richmond in January.
As former Virginia Delegate Mike Watson, a Republican, noted this evening: “Del. Tony Wilt & I patroned this bill in 2012 so that no one could declare an emergency in an effort to prohibit citizens from exercising their 2nd Amendment rights.”
If the Associated Press’ report about Democrat Gov. Ralph Northam’s plan to ban guns from Richmond’s Capitol Square is correct, his plan is illegal. The question then becomes what Virginia gun owners, constitutionalists, and Second Amendment supporters are going to do about it.

Personally I'm not a big rally guy. I don't put stickers on my car and I only have one NRA hat.
Soon I will have a HIFCO shirt. Personally I don't think you could get 100 people to March on
the Honolulu Capitol if they announced a law to confiscate our guns.
#1 The march would be a waste of time as the Democrat party has already decided what will happen.
#2 You never want to show your cards to the enemy, the Democrat party.
#3 Most thinking Hawaiian citizens have adopted the tactics of 4GW.
Sorry to be so dark, but if you are honest and think things through, living in this state,
you have to realize you are not free men. You are no better than the slaves the Hawaiian
monarchs ruled over.

This is a test.
VA is more symbolic than people realize.
Pray for Virginia.
-
Get militia groups from PA and OK heading to VA for the rally. One group heading there was involved in the big melee in Charlottesville in 2017.
That group signed an agreement to never go to Charlottesville again, but they are free to go to Richmond. I can hardly wait to see what happens on Monday.

It's a clusterfuck. Supposedly, Antifa factions are "supporting" 2A movement.
If these socialist dingbats cause action, which is why they are going to be there by design, they'll go and say it's because of 2A that these radical groups can cause havoc.
The Bloombergs and Soroses of the world are playing their hand.
Will America stay firm?
Hope for this state is bleak, IMO. Already, even with the "awakening" of native groups, they are already siding with the democrat platform... which makes no ducken sense, the same system that has been ducking everyone in this state since founding...
We are on our own.... no white knights or miracles are visible...

It does make all the "ducken" sense.
It was the Republican imperialist President McKinley, who orchestrated the illegal annexation by the US in 1898, which led to the domination of Republican government control during the territorial era till the Democrats UNFORTUNATELY took over in 1959. During the territorial era, Hawaiians and any other race or ethnicity that was NOT WHITE were treated like trash.
Remember the "BIG FIVE", anyone?
Those Hawaiians would choose to partake in the American political process today knows this history well; hence, it is no surprise that they would side with the Democrats, who have at least treated Hawaiians will some FAKE TOKEN of RESPECT than any Republican, at least till the day the de-occupation of Hawaii by the US occurs.

They do not seem to be treating them better in the context of this conversation. At least Democrats pretend to care before they bulldoze your house or bomb your wedding. More importantly they also tend to bring home the bacon when it comes to welfare money, which really comes in handy when someone steals your land and you have nowhere to go and do not feel like joining the Asians on the slave labor plantation.

What era are you using for context?
Seems to me, the Democrats that RUN THE STATE treat EVERYBODY, including Hawaiians, like plantation workers.
If you're not on the inside, you're just a resource to be taxed. It's your job as a serf to serve the state. The state serves no one that's not in power.
People can pretend this is a federal political party problem, but the feds treat the state today much better than the state office holders do.
I've lived in quite a few states, and the gov't here is the worst of them all. First time I've had to pay for a multi-billion-dollar rail project I'll never use which won't solve a single issue with traffic.

For what it’s worth

"Hard to tell, Republicans have never been in charge for over 60 years."
Seeing how the Republican Party had government control of Hawaii for the first 61 YEARS after the illegal annexation by the US in 1898, the non-White population got more than enough history and evidence of racism to FOREVER not allow the Republicans to see the light of day in Hawaii again.
Once again, there is no evidence to believe that Republican leadership today would be any different to the non-White people, as they operated prior to 1959.
"Your nonsense remark, confirms, in my mind, that even with all your educational creds, book smart does not equal common sense."
Pretty presumptuous remark for someone that does not know me very well.
In that case, what is you academic background that you see fit to make personal judgements of my character?

WELL SAID!
At least there is one person with OBJECTIVITY, who understands history and context, unlike those who make derogatory comments about how Hawaiians must be the most ill-informed people in their support for the Democratic party.

As said before, is there any evidence to believe that Republican leadership will be better, OUTSIDE of 2nd Amendment issues?
Furthermore, what is truly interesting about all those on this forum who complain about the Democratic monopoly on power, Hawaiians, local people, as well as the local culture of how we do things here, NO ONE is making you stay. You have the right to leave ANYTIME you want.

The topics are kind of related. The pro 2a lobby has a hell of a public relations problem. People do not understand that for many urbanites living in the Starbucks bubble it is horrifying to see hundreds of people marching down the street in full kit. Likewise it is not too clear why someone would expect Hawaiian Sovereignty advocates to immediately jump on the Republican bandwagon even though the only one on this site (who actually seems pretty reasonable) is the target of regular dog-piles and belittling memes.

The problem lies in the fact that every topic becomes a rehashing of why the US is bad and Hawaiian rule would be so much better now.
It gets really old.

You provided a very thoughtful and careful analysis of the situation.
It is amazing to see how the group-think phenomenon works in this forum. You would hope that supporters of the 2nd Amendment would try to mediate any differences and get more people living in Hawaii on their side. But alas, that is not the case. It is very clear in this forum that if a member does not adhere to the group-think consensus in any issue, that person is personally attacked and demonized.
I have personally talked with many firearms vendors on this island and many have shared their reasons why they don't like actively posting on this forum. Sadly, many of their reasons are very consistent. In the words of an established FFL dealer that I do business, "there are just too many single minded/issue clickish people on Hawaii 2a who dominate forum discussions, which dissuades many from being active participants in community events".
There are good people on this forum. However, it should be no surprise when very good organizers like Zipps can't get the turnouts he tireless works for, when it is the actions of only a few people in the sole 2a forum based in the isles that rudely turns would-be local-born supporters away.

In VA, anti-gun legislation backlash results in a “state of emergency”. :shaka:
-
Not only was the protest a complete success, they had approximately 22,000 people show up. Only one arrest of a female that refused to remove a mask she was wearing. It was not clear if she was even there to protest. There was a communist group that showed up to counter the protest. She could have been part of that group. The LGBT community showed up in support of the protest. Minorities were there as well protesting. And the best part is they cleaned up their trash after the event.
I did not hear if Antifa even showed up.

Of course NBCnews would call it a “tense rally” in the headline, but then later go on to describe how it was peaceful with only one arrest for failure to comply with an order to remove bandana.

Hope history will show it was a turning point as opposed to a flash in the pan. Seems like there was a lot of attendance from folks out of state. Also heard of some pro-2a groups that attended that were known for pushing things in their attempts to get the point across, but that the group largely kept that in check.

So besides no shots fired with all those dangerous weapons and people, there was no property damage also. Unlike other rallies.
