Title: Black Rifle Coffee cancelled?
Post by: hvybarrels on November 28, 2020, 01:12:54 AM
Such a confusing situation. I would rarely call for a company to be cancelled (unless they were hurting people) but conservatives are very angry at the moment and rightfully so because we have the entire establishment against us at the moment. It looks BRC made an unskillful attempt to handle a small PR gaffe of one of their distributors which then snowballed into a giant fustercluck. Then someone pulled up a political donation page and found out one of the owners contributed to the Obama campaign. More unskillful attempts to control things followed and now the backlash is fairly significant. It would be a shame for those vets they support to lose their jobs because the management bungled a crisis. Nobody wins here. On the other hand it looks like a hard line has been drawn in the sand and companies that market to the 2a community are going to have to be careful going forward. Cancel culture is not new to conservatives (big tech, yeti, etc) but for better or worse it looks to be picking up steam.

Cancel culture is stupid.  I guess Republicans are not immune.  It was mostly a stupid democrat thing.

This is everything wrong with politics.   I support this company i see nothing wrong with trying to gets wins from both sides.   Being neutral is great.

Not sure on all the hate.  Obama was a decent president. It's not like he banned all the guns.  We will never bridge the divide and stop making 2a a taking point if we keep this up.   Looks like he donated to Gabbert a less liberal Democrat. The exact type of democrats we want and the direction that party should go.  That's a good thing folks. Just like people should donate to the less "conservative" candidates not not the far right.   Let's bring back the middle.

I get the feeling that you keep forgetting (or trolling) that this is a 2A page dude. Anybody’s who is anti gun gets nailed on this board. Black rifle coffee decided to donate to anti gun organizations (act blue or something) and anti gun candidates Obama and Tulsi. Stop acting like you don’t know what’s wrong and playing stupid. Tulsi is anti gun and your so full of shit about Obama. Yes he didn’t outright ban anything, He didn’t have the senate buddy. This was when the “idea that dems or anyone want to come after your guns is nonsense.” Go watch that video and then come back here and tell me he wasn’t full of shit for saying that.

I’m really done with you dude. I thought you brought some interesting perspectives but your just unbearable to engage with at this point.

Ok I finished the whole video.  My original comment was based on Google.  Didn't know he donated to anti 2a.  It's a bit confusing this whole story.  Act blue appears to just be a donation farm for democrats not particularly anti 2a.
https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/ActBlue

Also Obama had control in the beginning.  I wasn't aware Tulsi was so anti 2a. She seemed like a less liberal Democrat.

https://www.ammoland.com/2019/04/tulsi-is-terrible-but-redeemable-on-the-second-amendment/#axzz6f7RuKDkN

In the end I just wanted to come off as let's not hop on the bandwagon of cancel culture and think this out.  It might not be as bad as it seems.   I guess I did that incorrectly.   My bad.

If you go full conspiracy maybe they were trying to get in with the democrats to promote 2a.  I'm just saying let's not rush to cancel them.   Don't be a liberal.

I'm saying we got to figure out how to make 2a not an political issue and have democrats and Republicans support it.   It's just one of my "dream" goals. Along with abortion and civil/drug support to not be a party issue.

True. It was the morning before I got out to drive.  I regret it.  But I don't appear to be wrong.  As my follow up post shows.  He donated to a Democrat group. Not specifically anti 2a.

Still think Obama was a fine president.   I may have been a bit wrong on Tulsi.  I thought she was more moderate of a Democrat.

Obama was NOT a good President, and the only thing that kept him from enacting more gun control was the fact that his party lost control of the House after 2 years, and the Senate right after.

He used pure emotional appeals to push his gun control agenda.  After Sandy Hook, he said, "If we can't get an assault weapons ban after something like this, then we'll never get it."

That tells you he had an agenda, not a solution -- just like everyone pushing gun control.

Just because he FAILED does not mean he wasn't pushing to erode our rights more than he did.  With every mass shooting, he made comments about having more laws passed.  He enacted executive orders when Congress refused to act on his agenda.

He ran on the message of ushering in "fundamental change" for the country.  You can't love the US and believe in the Constitution while simultaneously calling for the foundation of what makes us great to "change".  His wife after Obama was elected, "...for the first time in my adult life I am proud of my country..."  This couple has no love for the US, the Constitution, or your rights.  Period.

https://youtu.be/vHbLRf3C9KI

And Joe Biden?  Just as bad as Obama, if not worse:

Quote
“The 1994 assault weapons and high-capacity magazines bans worked,” wrote Biden,
who currently leads the field, in a New York Times op-ed last weekend. “And if I’m elected
president, we’re going to pass them again—and this time, we’ll make them even stronger.”

There’s a difference between cancel culture and being mindful of where you spend your money. I’m not saying black rifle coffee should go out of business. I’m sayin pro 2A patrons should not support BRCC thinking they are pro 2A. Act blue funneling money to democrats is not particularly anti 2A? I really am not a troll, but you are free to believe what you want.  I am not democrat, I am not republican.  2a isn't the only thing important in my life.  Perhaps that's why my mindset differs much from this forum, which might make you think I am a troll.  But I am just different.   From my research he donated to specific candidates (tulsi, obama) through ACT BLUE which appears to function like a payment system like paypal.  His reasoning being they are the lesser of evils of democrats.  I am just advocating the not rush to judgement and cancel culture.  Which i believe to be one of the most toxic liberal mindsets recently created.

I apologize for not being 100% accurate.  That isnt a good excuse.  As I should strive to be 100% but I just wanted to make sure it wasnt like I was 0% correct.  I had the wrong tone and some facts were incorrect.  I have since tried to clarify and correct the incorrect info.

The goal of my post was to combat cancel culture and I failed miserably.  Hopefully my follow up posts clarify my position, on this and the facts.

I’d better throw away my fave coffee mug then...

I have two BRCC mugs and a couple of shirts. All were gifts from close friends.

Just line after Benchmade’s fiasco, I’m not spending anymore of my $$$ on their products. But I’m not going to dump what I own.

Its none of the above.  Don't drink daily,  not autistic, and my mother has had no boyfriends after I was born.

Because OP posted that republicans did it for "Media" recently...

when you say "It was mostly a stupid democrat thing.", you recognize that republicans have done it in the past

I realize my faults,  I do strive to fix them.  But as with any habit its hard to break.  I like many millennials, used to instant posting and gratification tend to do stream of thought.

to get gratification, you could try being factually correct more of the time....

Yes?  Isn't that the point?  Democrats do it majority.  Republicans do it minority.  For example media,  look at Tucker Carson and the stupid people who tried to cancel culture him because he was asking for evidence and the person refused.... I don't want republicans to equalize or become the majority in this retarded "cancel culture" practice.  Its one of the reasons I tend to vote mostly republican.  Republicans are starting to become a party I don't believe in other than 2a is main saving grace.   I want to fight to keep republicans relevant to me and perhaps others in my generation or mindset.

True,  I am mostly correct, but like everything else this world is too polarizing.  Like that stupid dress, is it gold or blue.  It was technically both.  But neither side will believe each other.  I try to be as neutral as I can and on this forum balance out the convo.

so they were doing previously, and they did it once again, so now it is suddenly the republicans the majority of the time?

...man you are a bit slow on the uptake here...let me simplify this for you.

*numbers are made up and fictional to attempt to prove a point*

Cancel culture current numbers
Democrats: 90
Republicans: 10

What I want:  to remain the same or improve
Democrats: 100 or 0
Republicans:  10 or 0

What I don't want
Democrats: Irrelevant
Republicans: Anything more than what is currently.

That’s bit what you said originally
How can I be slow on the uptake when you keep changing what you say?

"I guess Republicans are not immune.  It was mostly a stupid democrat thing. "

Was mostly does not imply because of this it will still not be mostly a democrat thing.  I never said it will become mostly a republican thing.  It would be easy to infer that something "done mostly"  will still be done the same amount.  But now that republicans are joining in they are not "immune" (the minority) they can gain majority if they keep doing cancel culture things.  Like I said I had semi ambiguous language and wording and clarified that.  But at this point you are trying to beat a dead horse.

perhaps you should actually study an issue before opening your mouth
things would be a lot easier for you in life...
This ^^^^^

Watch out for overly broad statements and jumping into incorrect conclusions, and maybe you’ll have a chance.

Then maybe we won’t lose IQ points when we read some of your posts.

Seriously, I couldn’t have done a better job of trying to get through to the IDIOT WOMBLE. But, it didn’t work, did it?

I was just getting ready to order some of their coffee. Looks like I’m going back to my usual from Costco. I vote with my wallet. I don’t wish them ill. I believe in their cause. But Democrat Support is ANTI 2A. So they don’t get my support. It’s the American and capitalistic way.

I think a company doesnt have to address every issue. BRCC (not backroom casting couch) didnt have to make a statement. They should have just kept quiet and let people speculate if they helped kyle or not.

People getting sick off their coffee warrants a statement and stuff like that.

People are also forgetting many gun optic companies also donated to DNC anti 2a law makers.

Did not hear about that, but if I had to guess they were probably looking for military appropriations money under a friendly administration.
