Title: House passes bill to legalize Pakalolo
Post by: changemyoil66 on December 04, 2020, 08:39:02 AM
Off to the senate next.

On a side note, Monsato started to get into the MJ business a few years ago.  Maybe they know something? #noteverythingistinfoil

On your 4473, MJ is a schedule 1 narcotic currently.

Best news this year.  Hope they pass it and Mitch doesn't kill it. Majority of America supports legalization, Democrat, Republican and Independent.

I'm glad that the House has its priorities straight. Hopefully being stoned will help us with this COVID pandemic.

If you are a gun owner, you can lose your firearms and the right to keep & bear arms if you are availing yourself of the proposed state law allowing marijuana use -- no different than it is now for anyone with a medical marijuana card.

Until the US Congress or the ADA make marijuana no longer a Schedule I narcotic, guns and pot do not mix.

This does not impact people who are exclusively firearm collectors.  Losing their right to collect firearms doesn't affect any real principles the 2A was meant to defend.

I like how they named it the MORE act (Marijuana Opportunity, Reinvestment, and Expungement Act)

They plan to use it like Soma in Brave New World

And yes you are correct.  Until this is passed no usage of weed is allowed for anyone exercising their rights to purchase firearms.  That's why this is such good news, this appears that if once passed firearm owners can be free to partake in weed.  We can finally be free.  Along with workplaces no longer firing people for doing something in private time.  This is one step in the right direction to more freedom. Until then unfortunately all we can do is continue to only drink beer.

Please tell me where in the constitution where it makes a distinction between collector and other forms of firearm purchasing.

They made a ton of money off all the other stuff first. Anybody can grow cannabis at home and legitimate scientific access to it will make several very profitable medications obsolete overnight.  The fact that they are pushing so hard to legalize after decades of inertia means that social control has become more important than money.

Bullshit.

A private employer can fire you for any reason.  If they have drug testing for pre-employment, they can exclude you if it pops positive for HCL.  If you get stoned the night before and take a drug test -- random or directed -- you can be fired.

Employers have their own rules to keep the employees safe, the company productive, and the shareholders protected from behaviors that risk liability.

Alcohol is legal, but anyone whose work is impacted by, or the safety of others is put at risk by, consumption of alcohol, on or off the clock, can be fired.

Certain jobs require clean and sober employees due to safety, precision or federal statute requirements.

If you work under state or federal contracts, you must comply with workplace substance use/abuse laws and guidelines.  Violation is a firing offence.

As for collectors, I never said the 2a doesn't cover collectors.  My words were "This does not impact people who are exclusively firearm collectors."  Learn to read the words as written, and stop "interpreting".  Your comprehension filters are way out of whack!

I guess because you really nit pick.  Union covered jobs that have policies protecting employees.  Government jobs that have protections. And private jobs that usage of legal substances are not outlawed in company policy would be unable to fire you for pot. If you are not under the influence at the start of work there should be no judgment of what you do in private times.

Please do tell how a collector can purchase firearms without the second amendment.

Not while they are on the job.  But if the night before they wanted to I would be all for it.

God, you're stupid.

A BAC test can determine WHEN alcohol was consumed based on the level in the blood stream.  Metabolisms vary, but in general, you can tell if a person has a BAC of a certain level, they had to have consumed X amount of alcohol at least Y minutes or hours ago.

HCL is different.  The only way to measure intoxication from HCL is a sobriety test, which is only a blunt gauge of whether someone is impaired, not by how much.

HCL can remain in the system, hair, scalp, etc, for days after recreational use, and weeks to months for habitual users.  Trying to hold pot smokers to the same standards to determine degree and time of intoxication is pointless.  The only sure method of keeping people from being high on the job is a zero tolerance drug screen for HCL.  Don't like it?  YOU HAVE THE FREEDOM TO FIND ANOTHER PLACE TO WORK.   :geekdanc:  (Sound familiar?)

Anyone can appear to be a little lightheaded and not be intoxicated -- not quite awake yet, stood up too quickly, or any number of quick motions that made them temporarily dizzy.  What's the standard to know if a pilot just lost his balance for a second vs. still buzzing from morning joint?

You can say all you want about "this is okay, but that isn't", but without standards to identify violators and enforce the rules, the risk outweighs all other benefits of "he said he was okay to fly, and I have to take him at his word."

Great.
First make this generation psychopaths due to lack of human socialization
Second make them stupid by depriving them of education.
Then top it off by keeping them stoned and compliant.

It's about time that marijuana was legalized and people believing in individual rights should support this even if you don't like it.  The government should not pick and choose the rights people should have.  The only way to make things fair is to reduce government regulation overall.

There should be no illegal intoxicants (heroin, meth, etc.) of any kind, correct?

Only penalties for endangering behavior while under the influence?

Government support for the "users" in the form of the drugs themselves and/or apparatus for use (syringes, pipes, etc.)?

Just askin'.

And if that array of activities is made fully legal, how could the same government deny physicians the ability to legally help painlessly euthanize anyone psychologically competent who asked for it?

Treating medical conditions (like drug addiction) as a crime makes about as much sense as treating gun crime as a public health issue.

I am against drug use, however I see it as a Federal constitutional issue and Federal government overreach.

https://www.cato.org/publications/commentary/drug-legalization-right-control-body

But we have never passed a constitutional amendment granting the federal government any power to ban marijuana, or cocaine or other drugs. The federal government’s contemporary prohibition policy is an illegal and unconstitutional usurpation of a power never granted to it.

You have a point, since it took a Constitutional Amendment to prohibit alcohol production, distribution, sales and possession.  No such amendment exists for the same prohibition of narcotics, which could contain an exemption for medicinal use when prescribed by a doctor.

Depends on how strict we are being with definitions here. Do you consider coffee drinkers drug addicts? Technically they display some of those behaviors. The real question is if there are relatively harmless addictions that the government has no legitimate business regulating (beyond limiting access to minors).

So 88.9 station radio mentioned theres a 5% tax included that has to be allocated to people disimportioned.

Idk wtf that means, money in peoples pocket if they got arrested? Sounds like a good reason to not pass in the senate.

Its probably some program to help those non violent released prisoners get their life back together.  Didn't read 100% of the law, but that makes the most sense.  I find that to be reasonable tbh.  If you are non violent and got convicted for just pot and your life was ruined, now they make pot legal you should be freed and helped back a bit to get your life back together.

I don't understand why people have to smoke it in the car.  I can understand tobacco cause it's addicting, but not marijuana.

Really? Never seen any death numbers attributed to caffeine. But I guess you would measure that against the amount of lives saved by caffeine too, like people not crashing from being tired.

Pot is illegal federally and depending on the state u got arrested in as well.  So possessing pot  is on them. No one else to blame. It is illegal at the time of arrest and guilty verdict.

There should be no help to get back on your feet. Make bad choices, suffer the consequences.

My position is the Feds should stay out of it except for taxes and importation bans or tariffs as authorized by the US Constitution.

Any action should be done at the state level, and only as necessary for highly addictive drugs, like crystal meth.  If people want to screw themselves over willingly, then I got no problems with it as long as they don't hurt others and they don't use government resources.  Marijuana is the least of our worries and should be treated as such.

At the same time the community should take responsibility.  Shame people using, selling, and manufacturing drugs.  Run prevention programs.  Provide support for rehab.

They do ask you that question for your work.  Cannot even consume in a legal state due to federal law.
