Title: No more bail for criminals
Post by: Hoplite on May 05, 2022, 06:48:18 AM
Get ready for crime to go completely out of control in Hawaii. The legislature has decided to do away with bail and instead immediately release all arrests in Hawaii. They keep claiming bail is a penalty but it’s not it’s collateral to make you show up to court if you are released on your own recognizance and nothing more.  Lock up all your valuables really well and get your insurance up to date.  Make sure you vote well in November to replace the idiots who came up with this nonsense too.

It’s ok. This is Hawaii, the land of Aloha (and stupid politicians).

I wonder what the police union thinks about this?

Our old nemesis John McCarthy was on Hawaii News Now taking about how cops are going to feel helpless. What he didn’t mention is that it probably also means a corresponding rise in violent crime.

On a positive note we have all 76 legislators up for reelection thanks to redistricting and along with the coming food shortages this couldn’t be timed better to raise public dissatisfaction enough for a clean sweep. After years of political stagnation there is finally a window to get some 2a sympathetic people into office.

IF we use the momentum correctly

Simply amazing what these f**kers at the State Capitol are thinking.

Release from custody for "non-violent" offenses like property damage.  Property damage "non-violent"?  How about I go to your house Mr/Mrs./Ms./It/Thing (or whatever else you want to be called) Lawmaker and do some property damage and see how you feel about it.

And this realization of public safety concerns BUT the jails are overcrowded.......

WTF???  Address the overcrowded jails, not the safety of the public you f**ktards.

Being mostly  a Libertarian sort of guy, I'd ask why do we have so many laws?
How do you define violent?
Taking my property is a violent action.
You killing yourself with drugs is not violent.
Gambling is not violent.
Driving 10 mph over the speed limit is not violent, until something goes wrong.
Law should punish for an act that caused an actual harm, not prevent some
imagined, dreamed up harm.
You cannot protect idiots from their own stupidity.
However there would be far fewer idiots if we are allowed
to protect ourselves from them.
Shoot, shovel, and shut up.

If you saw 2 guys breaking into your car on your property and you came out of your house with a gun to confront them and hold them for the police, guess who would get arrested and held at least overnight and who would be released.

Taser can be used to protect your property or the property of others.  There is no law on how many times 1 can tase a bad guy. Civil court might screw you though.

This article clearly shows that the governor and the lawmakers of Hawaii do not have the people of Hawaii interests at heart.

Everything is money, money, money.  There is money to address the overcrowding of the f**kn jails.  The lawmakers and the stupid governor just refuse to allocate, re-direct, and audit.  Lazy pukes.

edited to add:  Sad that the "adults" of Hawaii has to lecture our governor and lawmakers.  They fail to understand that public safety trumps overcrowded jails and the pukes that inhabit them.

Imagine if they had allocated the .5% GET increase to building prisons and law enforcement instead of rail.

I always thought they should pay the Hawaiian's to put a penitentiary on Kaho'olawe.
Land is currently pretty useless, an island like Alcatraz  practically secured by un-exploded ordinance, still in the state for relatives to visit (bring back the ferry) and an escape as difficult as it may be would not "threaten" local residents.   :geekdanc:

People gonna complain that they cannot visit their loved one easily. Like how they complained and filed ACLU suit when that 1 fat guy lost plenty weight. Well it's cause he's not eating 6000 calories a day anymore.

I haven't read up on that in a while, but I thought the process of clearing had been started.  Maybe even completed, or to certain extent.

I haven't read up on that in a while, but I thought the process of clearing had been started.  Maybe even completed, or to certain extent.

It started in the 90's, but wasn't a major clean up. More like volunteer type of numbers.  My mom who was with the AG at the time and went there as a group for the office to visit it.

1 issue was that 1 of the big bombs dropped messed up their underground water source. Think of it like  jar of water, half fresh water and half salt water. And the 2 separate leaving the fresh water at the top and the salt water at the bottom.  Then shake the jar.  That is basically what happened with the force of the explosion.  But with today's tech, maybe salt water to fresh water conversion is possible if only a small amount is needed. Like enough to run a prison and not a city.

Then due to having no buildings, the wind is very strong because there is nothing to block it.  And add in all the dirt/dust.

A prison doesn't have to be in the middle of the Island, but more near the edge where there is less ordinance used.  Then have a ferry service, but watch out fo da whales.  So a prison is possible, but HI rather spend $12 billion on a rail.

There arec thousands upon thousands acres of vacant land along the Daniel K Inouye Highway, more commonly known as the Saddle Road on the BI. No houses there.  It is also windy and cold, so buiild it 3 miles from the highway and make them wear thin bright pink with reflector stripes shorts and tshirt.  If they manage to escape from the heated building,  they would suffer hypothermia.  Relatives can visit easier and improve the BI economy.

My idea was so they utilize relatively un-usable land, the Hawaiian's get some money for this otherwise unusable land, not using inhabitable, build-able or ag land, it's relatively secure, no reason for neighbors to fear an escaped criminal and still in the state to visit (BI relatives gotta visit their incarcerated loved ones by traveling to Oahu).
You can still put them in thin bright pink with reflector stripes shorts and t-shirt (and bvd's).

Get plenty land not usable for ag.  Covered with pahoehoe lava. A 100 acres would be plenty for a prison.  What is good is no mo vegetation for hide in in the places I would select. Then I would make a 6 ft high safety fence inside. Then a 16 ft electric fence and finally on the outside a fence like they got around OCCC.

E-Bike business thefts on the news yesterday. Thieves use big saw to cut through steel door.

“People are now coming in an taking what they want,” said a frustrated Bitar. “Almost every week it feels like everyone’s getting hit and there’s no consequences for their actions.”

RE: Brazen criminals

Last week I went to Walmart later in the evening when it's not crowded.
As I was checking out, the salesgirl started yelling at a creepy guy with tats and gold chains.
When I was walking to my car, the same guy was following me.
I noticed him and grabbed the pepper spray and turned around.
He quickly ducked in between some cars.

They stole the truck and the heavy duty saws. It was a mini crime spree.

Then someone came back a couple days later and smashed through the front and grabbed some helmets.

A lot of places are getting hit two times in one week.
