This is disturbing to me.
These guys are arrested before they did anything wrong.
If these guys are guilty of a crime, then can't the same thing happen to all of us who have guns?

Patriot Front is a fake organization which is why they have their faces covered all the time. Antifa had a significant Fedboi presence as well.
They are trying to convince us through theatrics that we need to surrender all our rights so that the government can keep us safe.
It is indeed disturbing that they didn't even commit a crime and were still arrested

Wasn't there a movie about that? Arresting people before they commit a crime?

Planning to commit a crime is a crime. If you and I wanted to rob a bank and took steps towards completing a bank robbery we could be arrested. If I hired a hitman to kill someone then I have already committed a crime even if the hitman never killed anyone yet.
I read a few articles about this and none gave much in the way of details of the evidence. The articles reported that police found documentation in the truck which led them to believe they were planning to riot. Without any details it is impossible to tell whether officers had enough information to justify a resting all of them or not.
I too was concerned after reading the headline. How could they arrest so many people on what they thought was a plan to riot? But it is possible that there may have been enough evidence to establish probable cause that the group intended to riot so I I'm going to withhold judgment until I get more information about this case

there's a video of the police spokesperson on the scene speaking to media, and they said "there were people in the chat", i am assuming in response to a question about how the knew about the intentions of the group

Well, FWIW, here is my thought.
Suppose that I am a TV screenwriter that has a hobby of shooting guns.
I write an episode of Magnum P.I. that details a plot to murder somebody.
So here we have a script, which is exactly like a plan, and I have the tools/weapon and the skill to carry out that plan.
I could be arrested just like those ole boys in Idaho, right?
===========
BTW, I think those boys did have an intent to cause trouble.
But I think just the presence of police would have prevented any violence.

Lots of radical groups are using "peaceful protest" as an excuse to carry out their agenda.
But not sure about how this particular incident was handled by LE. Looks like lots of LE are running scared nowadays.

First story that was released said a neighbor saw a bunch of guys getting into the back of a Uhaul and called 911. I doubted this from the beginning. I'll bet they had a Narc in the group. Or worst, Snowden type of stuff going on.
I wonder how much Antifa has been arrested like this in the past 6 years? I mean I've seen pics/vids of them in the streets with shields and uniforms and destroying property.
-
Curious ... how many times did ANTIFA or BLM members get arrested on their way to perform a "counter protest" somewhere?
ANTIFA : Members all dressed alike and "armed" with not only weapons, but also first aid supplies to treat smoke, teargas and traumatic injuries.
Those people were obviously not going there to simply observe.
O0 >:D

Supposedly these are pictures of the guys who were arrested.
More likely they are just some poor schlubs who answered the pms from someone on armslist "selling autosears" and were offered the opportunity to have their image used in a psyop as part of their plea agreement.
"Good news, citizen. You work for us now!"

I find the neighbor seeing suspicious activity plausible. I mean if you saw a bunch of guys dressed up like that pile into a U-Haul van I think you would suspect something bad was about to happen.
The one thing that bothers me about that account is how did the police develop enough information to justify the arrests from just a traffic stop. They could stop the truck and if there was any sort of violation such as seat belts requirements they could identify everyone in the truck but it would be hard to justify a search of the van for documents and whatnot.
I would suspect that they did have some sort of inside source with additional information

Obviously, they have precogs.

but seriously, the police better have some solid evidence or somebody is going to be sued

That's why I said the "neighbor" calling the cops is BS.

Those cops arresting them didn't appear agitated or even remotely concerned for their safety. It seemed more like everyone was just going through the motions for the cameras.
And the fact that they aren't pulling the balaclavas down to do identification checks? When was the last time you dealt with a cop and they didn't demand some sort of ID?
It's pretty clear who the "source" was. Just more made for TV staged garbage like Jan 6 committee.
And at the same time as an attempted murder of a SC justice by a radical lefty. Which story got more coverage?
How convenient.

Yep. Seems like anyone, including ANTIFA and BLM activists, could have been posing as "White Supremacists/Nationalists" to create a news event that supports the DOJ's press conferences on "the greatest domestic threat in the US."
Think "The Jussie Smollett hoax" on steroids. Can't find an actual group to arrest, so create your own!
-
That's why I said the "neighbor" calling the cops is BS.
I understand the skepticism and I share it but I was just saying it is concievable.

I have a hard time believing they would stage such a thing just for media attention.
Again, I'd have to reserve judgement until I can find more out about how they developed the probable cause through their interactions.

Did you ever take a course in statistics?
Something may be subjectively " conceivable", but it it may very well be statistically improbable.
This one is also intuitively very improbable.
Then there is "common sense" regarding our modern Democrat dominated government.
That is three strikes.

Uh, does tiki torches held by lefts to support a GOP candidate ring a bell ?
As for the rest, what are the charges ?
Seeing how they never got there, not inciting a riot .
No weapons.
Shinguards cuz LGBQTRS's can't throw a punch and probably would resort to childish shin kicking and the shields may have been to protect against being subjected to being infected by excreted bodily fluids (no not that kind, I'm talking about HIV,STD and Monkey pox spit).
Self preservation while constitutionally counter protesting.
Or conspiracy theory is correct and they were all antifa-ettes portraying WS ::)

I am looking at it from a criminal prosecution standpoint, therefore I am considering:
Reasonable suspicion for the stop and detention
Probable cause for the arrest
Proof beyond a reasonable doubt for a conviction
I have seen a number of instances in my life where the statistically improbable, intuitively improbable, and against common sense situation has happened so I don't rule out such possibilities so quickly.

Are you implying that the guys marching with tiki torches chanting "Jews will not replace us" were actually leftists in disguise? If so that is a pretty fancy theory but I have seen no evidence to give it any credibility.
As for the evidence against these guys, I already stated that I do not know enough to weigh in with an opinion on whether their detention, their arrest, and/or a decision to prosecute them is justified. There is enough unknown to us (the general public) that it could be justified but it could also be unjustified.

I believe whatever the giant corporations tell me, so they must be guilty of something.
