Title: We’re getting closer to CCW
Post by: nickelzismoney on July 15, 2022, 11:48:53 PM
We appear to be getting closer and closer to our permits being granted. Small steps, but steps none the less. Occasionally checking every few days, I decided to check due to boredom — HPD has updated their page for CCW and HRS 134-9: AG’s Opinion. I’ll attach them below.

You must have a mouse in your pocket.
I called on my Permit.  I'm Big Island,
County Hawaii
They claim that my permit is stalled because the  permit package is being revised.
That package will be available from the state AG website soon.
in the last 22 year there has never been a CCW permit package in Hawaii county.

AND why is the state AG issuing licenses when HRS 134-9 says it is the county
police chief that are responsible.
This is simple, they don't have a clue.
This is not wise;
Gett a lawyer on speed dial
Start conceal carrying.
Sue the county for 1 billion dollars.
I'm starting on Monday.

Fuck them.

I’m glad your local PD doesn’t feel the need to give you the run around or shut you up by insisting they know nothing or beat around the bush. Honolulu Police Department does not share the same sentiment of keeping the county citizens in the loop with information that isn’t BS

Saw a KHON News video saying the chiefs in all counties are making updates to their application forms to accommodate CC licenses.  Once they have a final version, they will be contacting those who already applied to reapply on the new forms.

This simple fact is proof positive they never intended to issue CC permits to anyone.  No permits approved means no need forms, training guidelines or processing policies.

You’d think the state would be proactive and save their own hides and at least develop some kind of basic plan because it doesn’t take a rocket surgeon to obey, honor, and abide by the Constitution. But then again, these are Democrats that are currently in charge. They aren’t smart and don’t care about freedom — only controlling those “below” them and filling their wallets and bank accounts. But these recent SCOTUS rulings have definitely reminded them they aren’t above the law. Even if it didn’t directly and immediately change everything overnight, it paved the way for superb lawsuits to tear their asses down again and remind them who they are and why they were elected.

Close, but not q-u-i-t-e there yet.  And when we do, be prepared for blood running in the streets, according to some of our esteemed wise political leaders.

And what is this bullshit about having to "reapply" after you filled out the form they originally provided.  More stall tactics.

What you're witnessing is a temper tantrum.

Picture a 7 year old having to be dragged by his arm out of a toy store while kicking and screaming.

We're seeing a bunch of spoiled politicians used to being able to do whatever they want finally getting told, "NO!"

I was thinking this also.  Especially in Demokrat controlled Hawaii.  The leaders are so used to literally doing what they want but for this to happen the majority of the people here also need to be in lockstep with them.

Sad to say it was like this for so long.  Even when major corruption is revealed, the people here are either so apathetic or just conditioned to think this is how things are here.  We do things differently in Hawaii.  Yeah, right.  Fear of change.

So now, powers greater than them has directed a certain mandate.  And they don't like it at all.

They definitely are not used to pressure from the public.

When someone knows their rights and is not afraid of them they don’t know how to respond.

We have to be the factor that helps everyone see that this is NOT how it should be and that just because it happens here and has always happened doesn’t mean it should continue

Y'all nailed it pretty good.
Temper tantrum.
There be like less than 100 CCW applications in a state with 1.5 million people!
We are just the people trying to be legal.  They are afraid of the people that
ignore their stupid unconstitutional laws.
 :wtf:

It won’t happen until next legislation session at the earliest IMO. I don’t believe the Governor has the authority to impose such rules as “emergency executive orders” and it’ll have to be voted on. I could be wrong.

In the meantime hopefully we’ll have some kind of timeframe where restriction measures aren’t very ample. And once it is, it will be legally and constitutionally challenged and overturned (should it even make it to signed law). Also, I know at least 2 of the Republican Gov candidates are somewhat for the Second Amendment, and hopefully enough so to veto/ reject said carry restrictions since Ige will be termed out. Not sure about Penn yet because he refused to answer my questions (but I’m also a nobody I’m his world).  Let’s hope that somewhat is an understatement because somewhat isn’t good enough.

the new ccw requirement is to hit 2 out of 3 soda cans at 100 yards in 3 seconds from a concealed carry holster

I can do that.
I'm sure most cops can't.

All joking aside, it seems to make sense to me that if you already possess a ccw permit from another state, then what's the problem issuing one for this state?
I know a lot of us guys on this forum already have permits.

Agreed. Even if Const. Carry wasn’t a thing my FL permit would let me carry in about 20-30 other states. You’d think that if a state deems you safe and responsibile enough to carry a firearm without being a resident you’d be good in your home state 🤷🏽‍♂️
