Guess who's behind it...
If only there was some federal law enforcement bureau that had experience investigating and infiltrating criminal/terrorist organizations to gather intelligence and evidence on the people behind it all.
If only ....

Pam Bondi swears they will pursue the people who are funding these acts. Not only the ones who are actually committing them.
This old man caused enough trouble already. Throw this old coot in jail. This A$$Hat must feel he is immune and for a while under the demorats he was.
C'mon Pam, show America he is not.

I wonder how many NYC real estate holdings he has that might have been overvalued in order to get sweet terms on loans.

I hope the arsonist is in severe pain.
I hope he has to pay full restitution for the damages he caused.
I hope he goes to prison for a few felonies including domestic terrorism. He painted political slogans on the pavement where he did the deed, so the motivation is definitely in the realm of political terrorism.
I hope every person vandalizing property to protest Trump and Musk/DOGE gets the same legal consequences, and if they are playing with fire, they deserve to get burned, too.
Political speech is free and protected. Intentional destruction of property and risking the safety of people who did nothing wrong are crimes.

Joe Biden was our former dimensia-addled "commander-in-chief" for four years. That should be all the evidence you need that the DNC simply wants brainless idiots who will do whatever hair-trigger thing they want them to do and NEVER question or, god-forbid, bite the hand that feeds them!

These attacks aren't real complicated, I don't think they require funding. What would it be, $5 for a gallon of gas and a lighter?
From what I have seen they really just seem more like unhinged individuals acting out.
The FBI and ATF both said they haven't found any evidence of coordination.

So, you believe there's no way the people funding these attacks could be motivating the ones inciting the vandalism?
The collaboration doesn't have to be at the lowest level. It takes influence (money) to get the media and bloggers to harp on DOGE and Musk in order to then call for "protests" at dealerships, charging stations and against individual Tesla owners.
For example, BLM received millions in donations, but we know the actual protestors and rioters didn't get paid. That money was spent on cars, mansions and a lavish lifestyle for the movement's leaders.
That's how the Liberal and Socialist elite fund these things without getting their own hands dirty.

What evidence is there that someone is funding these attacks, and what is there to fund?
A celebrity could casually imply people should damage Tesla dealerships but I wouldn't call that coordination and it would not be enough to establish any sort of coordination for the sake of criminal prosecution.
To me this looks much more organic, people copycatting and it snowballing from keying a Tesla to starting fires at dealerships. Thats my best guess.
-
Funding does not have to be direct. Soros has a whole organisation of radio stations and NGO's. Some receive money from American tax payers! Once the money is paid to the NGO the gov. has no idea who receives the cash!!!The sole purpose is to destroy America!!!!Elon musk is exposing the corruption and is suffering fer it!!! Dems are squirming like a snail in salt!! I have a 3\4 ton diesel truck...thinking about buying a TESLA!!

He went from arguing the attacks themselves don't require funding to there's no evidence that those inciting the vandalism is getting paid.
Once again, if he doesn't already believe something, there's no way it happened.
Mr. Contrary at it again. I wonder how much the Left is paying him to disrupt this forum. Since he's taking weeks off at a time before commenting, maybe his handler's funding dried up after Trump won.

You'll never convince a color-blind person how you can see whether a stoplight is red or green from several blocks away.
In the same fashion, you can't convince someone who fails to see that conspiracies and bad actors exist no matter how obvious they are to you.
Imagine how hard it was for Sir Isaac Newton to convince others that an invisible force without taste, odor or tactile qualities exists pulling everyone and everything toward the Earth and affects everything from motion to tides and trajectories of comets despite the indisputable and observable effects.
Some people won't believe a sign on a park bench unless they feel the wet paint.

Burden
Of
Proof
But but Soros..... Is not proof of anything, it is a rich boogeyman you can toss conspiracy theories at. No different than what the left says about Musk by the way.
You get your panties in a bunch anytime you get challenged so you have to call me names like "Mr. Contrary". Do what you need to cope.

Vandals are scratching messages into Teslas with a phone in one hand to record the act. It's assumed they will post this to the Internet to add to the terrorism being perpetrated nationally.
The funny part is, these people seem to not know there are about half a dozen cameras on Teslas also recording the crime. I saw a recent video posted on the FB group Stolen Stuff Hawaii where the face of the woman scratching "F**K ELON" into the finish was clear as day. Another video showed a man walk up to another car and spit on it. I guess there were too many people within line of sight to do more.
I'm curious if these people understand these are not cheap vehicles which will be expensive when they are forced to pay for the damage. i also wonder if they understand many Teslas are owned by other Leftwing Liberals who bought them to be able to say they drive a "green" vehicle.
Liberalism is a mental disorder.

The hard part is that the cameras have to be turned on. This is known as the "sentry" system. It's not automatic. There might be a way to have it automatically on once you leave your car, but I never did this.
Then when someone activates the motion sensor, the horn beeps once and the lights flash once. I find it odd that this didn't startle any vandels away. Or maybe their TDS is so strong that they are clueless.
I'll bet you now that every Tesla is turning their sentry on when they leave their car.
You can also watch live your camera system from your phone from all angles. What doesn't happen is you get an alert for motion on your phone. But to make camera viewing playback faster, the playback system has set points where there was motion invovled, as in someone standing next to your car.
No other car comes with this tech. I can even allow someone to drive my car and use my phone to set up the authorization. So say im in Vegas and my dad has to move my car. No need keys, I just activate if from my phone. I can even set a max speed limit for any user or even a valet.
The camera system also automatically records when you honk your horn and it saves 10 seconds prior to the horn honk. I've used this when I was rear ended. No damage, but when I was hit, I honked my horn. My camera picked up that the girl behind me dropped somethign on the passenger floor. So she bend over to the side to get it. Thats when her car began to move. I guess her foot came off the brake. Used it again when a car in front of me rear ended another car. Honked my horn to save the impact. I replayed it and the owner who was rear ended recorded my vid with their phone from the touch screen inside my car.

They don't care if they get caught...they do this because they fight the evil TRUMP and the Nazi Musk. Take my picture...I'll never be charged! They are proud of what they are doing.Repair to a damaged Tesla $5,400 :wtf: These people are very sick!!

Did you see the video of the Beluga Whale ramming the vehicle with his mini-4 wheeler? That poor thing probably blew a gasket with that 1000 lb. fatso riding it.
Fatso is probably mad because he'll lose his EBT card and welfare check. There's no way that blob has a job.
-
Another addition showing that these people lack logic. It cost money to fix the cars. Most mechanics won't work on a Tesla, so Tesla gets paid to fix a car that was already purchased.
For severe body damage, most in HI also send it off back to Tesla to run diagnostics or to calibrate once the body work was done. The days of a simple bumper replacement have ended many years ago. There is so much tech in cars that many mom n pop bodyshops cannot afford to buy the equipment needed to read diagnostic codes or to calibrate bumpers for every make and model.
For simple key marks, I'm going to assume that the terrorist doing this also believe in climate change. So more paint is needed and a rental car is also needed while the EV is in the shop and guess what...the rental car will be ICE.

Today I saw a video and news reports of someone egging a Tesla and smearing dog poop on it from a baggie.
Another man walked up to a Tesla, put his hand down the back of his pants a few times, and smeared his own excrement on the car.
All of this was caught on the cars' cameras.
I could comment further, but i'd like to forget these people before my next meal.

Yet, you never offer proof of your opinions. Why is it always others who have that burden?
I said it looked organic to me, I am not making a positive claim that there is no one behind the scene coordinating these attacks.

Not to mention their protest is counter productive. When they damage a car, the owner may back to the dealer for repair which means more money for Tesla and Musk. It also means insurance companies are going to pay out more and thereby raise everyone's premiums. Attacks on dealerships at least make sense, attacks on private owners of Teslas shows no rational thought process.
-
I said it looked organic to me, I am not making a positive claim that there is no one behind the scene coordinating these attacks.
If you aren't going to state a definitive argument, why post such an opinion at all?
Everyone understands there's another side to every story. But you seem unable to stop yourself from posting the obvious unsupported possible other side as if you're contributing something important to the discussion.
Contrarianism is real.

Observations don't have to be definitive. If I see smoke coming from a house but I don't see flames I should just say nothing?
Looking at multiple possible explanations is always important, its called being objective. You are free to jump to politically convenient theories if you want, not my style.

LOL! Where is that rule written?
Observations that are not definitive are called unreliable impressions. Show me where you said you saw smoke of anything else that rises to the level of relevant or even of interest.
Looking at reasonable possibilities is not the same as you looking at every imaginative possibility you pick and choose to post without any evidence to support them.

When conservatives don’t like a company they stop buying its products. When liberals don’t like a company they turn into ISIS.

It's hard to boycott a company that makes the best vehicle for green energy zealots. It's also a product that's outside the price range of a majority of drivers, and it doesn't meet the needs of everyone in the automobile market.
A boycott of Tesla will barely register on their quarterly sales figures.

Congratulations libs. Beat up a 60yo woman driving a Tesla and now she's a conservative AND a gun owner.
Makes you wonder if it will be necessary to put down an actual violent insurrection in the near future though. That's what they accused us of, so we know that's one of their plans.

87% of Tesla is owned by people and companies not named Elon Musk. Elon will be leaving DOGE by the end of April or as soon as he has saved taxpayers $1T, whichever comes sooner. Besides cars, Tesla makes the very popular PowerWall and developing a smart watch, wheelchair, phones among other things. I would buy a Tesla smart watch if it can really do all the things I saw on YouTube. I would like to see Tesla make a robot that can cut grass, wash my car, do my laundry and cook.

Who said anything about a written rule? I made a statement based on the logic in your statement to illustrate a point.
I didn't come up with every imaginative possibility, I came up with a reasonable one. You seem to just not want to admit it is a possibility because then you can't entertain the George Soros conspiracy theory.

There's a way to protest.
And what these stupid people are doing to people's private property is not it. They should be held accountable and punished.
Trump was elected because people felt America was going over the edge under the retarded leadership of some very corrupt, stupid, and evil asshats.
I'm beginning to wonder if America has already gone over that edge.

For every Tesla that gets totaled, you can assume the company sells another one to replace it.
For repairs done at the dealership and parts purchased from the manufacturer, Tesla again makes money.
And the perpetrator, if caught, foots the bill!
Nobody ever accused Liberals/Democrats of being smart.

The problem lies in insurance costs. If these people managed to damage enough Teslas to cause insurance for Teslas to increase significantly that could reduce sales thereby hurting Tesla.
The problem with recovering the cost of the vehicle through restitution is that it only works if the offender has money to begin with. Regardless I do home all these people get hit with appropriate restitution.

Only? Really?
I had a friend who sued his neighbor for slander and defamation of character.
The defendant knew he was about to lose, but he didn't want to pay the judgement. So he tried getting rid of his home by transferring ownership to his daughter just before the verdict.
Courts don't like it when you play those games. When you "sell" your house to a relative for $1.00 during the hearing in a lawsuit, it's obvious what you are doing. I believe the judge referred him to the DA to file fraud charges on top of the lawsuit judgement against him.
My friend not only got a check for whatever cash the man had in the bank, but he also placed a lien on the man's home -- meaning the home can't be sold or refinanced unless my friend was paid first or agreed. He also filed to garnish the man's income.
In another relative's case, he passed a couple of bad checks that were less than $300 total. He was ordered to make restitution in 6 months. As that time passed, he lost his job and didn't find another one. Unable to pay, the court found him in contempt of court. He was arrested, thrown in jail, and wasn't released until he made restitution. My mother and i paid the amount of the bounced checks plus court costs after he spent a week in jail.
Moral of the story: the Tesla vandal doesn't necessarily need the money to satisfy an order of restitution. They can sell something, get a home equity loan, get a personal bank loan, have their paycheck garnished or borrow from relatives/friends.

Funny. I thought YOUR POINT was very clear:
"The problem with recovering the cost of the vehicle through restitution
is that it only works if the offender has money to begin with."
Maybe try posting your point instead of false, definitive comments.
The word "only" is a qualifier, but one that's more constraining than your normal qualifiers.
Even your updated POINT is wrong. You say they have to have something to go after. That's incorrect.
As I illustrated, the person can borrow the money or ask friends and relatives to help pay the judgement. They could also luck out and get a bunch of Libtards to donate to an online fund raiser to help pay it. They may also have insurance they can file a claim under -- liability and possibly auto depending on the policy.
So, NO!! They do not have to have anything "to go after." You (and your insurance company if you filed a claim) can sue regardless of the assets the asshat has. Many people who can't recover damages through the other person's insurance will file under their own policy and then sue the person for any deductible and other out-of-pocket expenses, making restitution much easier to collect.

Wrong.
Originally I said money but I should have said "something of value" to be more accurate.
If I am a homeless drug addict with no property, no wealth, no income, you (or your insurance company) can get a judgement of $50,000 for torching your Tesla all day long and you will never get a dime back because I would have nothing to go after. The updated point was completely accurate because we don't have a prison system where a person works off their debt and you can't force the family members to pay the judgement either. Recovering the cost of your torched Tesla is only possible if the torcher has something of value to go after. Until then, you, or your insurance is still out that $50,000 and this, on a wider scale, can increase insurance costs. Cars that are stolen at higher rates often cost more to insure so this notion you have that the criminals simply be charged to recover the costs doesn't bear out in reality.

In your mind, you can't ever be wrong if you later say, "I should have said."
Having intent to state one thing and stating something else doesn't make what you actually said right. Yet, you want to deny it was incorrect.
Sad.

I never said it wasn't wrong. I openly indicated a better word choice.
You could have taken that little victory but then you go and lose it by refusing to admit someone with nothing of value can't be forced to pay a judgement. Oh oh oh but he can crowd fund. Guess you can never be wrong either huh? At least I admitted my poor choice of words.
-
Swoosh
A simple no would do, but here you go again and refuse to admit when wrong.
-
Even the homeless can/has money. Not $50K, but I would settle for the $2.83 in their pocket. I mean, you've never heard of "settlements"?

A lot of homeless have no monthly bills but still receives food benefits and Social Security unearned income.
It's not uncommon for SS income to be garnished to satisfy a judgement.
-
Homeless have money. Most choose to be homeless so they can have "more" money. Many times for some bad choices. But even bad choices cost money.
Most if not all of them are irresponsible, lazy, POS.

Most of the homeless have better sense than to vandalize an expensive car for no reason other than "Trump!! Musk!! Hitler!!"
So, the argument that the homeless would not be able to pay a lawsuit judgement is irrelevant and merely a red herring.
Most homeless probably have no idea what the protest involves, and they sure as heck don't want to get caught breaking the law for some drive-by Liberal's cause.

Regardless of homeless or not, with money or not, an insurance company recouping their loses still rely on the criminals getting caught. So even if 25% of Tesla vandals get caught and pay full restitution, the insurance companies are still going to lose a lot of money and may raise insurance premiums for Teslas.

That's got nothing to do with your original position -- that:
"The problem with recovering the cost of the vehicle through restitution
is that it only works if the offender has money to begin with."
Now the problem is in catching the vandal, not how able they are to make restitution on their own.
Has anyone seen the goal posts? I could have sworn they were right here.....
:geekdanc:

Don't worry, I will install another one. But it will be moved at a later time and date selected by EEF.

You understand that there are two sides to the same coin right? Recovering the cost necessarily relies upon catching and convicting the vandal.
Funny that you only quote part of what I originally said. Here is the other part you forgot (purposefully left out) to quote.
"The problem lies in insurance costs. If these people managed to damage enough Teslas to cause insurance for Teslas to increase significantly that could reduce sales thereby hurting Tesla."

What I understand is that you focused on the vandals WHO WERE CAUGHT as being unable to pay.
Now that you realize that is a losing position, you pivoted to being unable to catch and identify all the vandals.
Those are NOT two sides of the same coin. They are completely separate issues. You can't get a judgement against an unknown vandal, so you can't now include all the vandals that were not caught in your arguments.
In your mind, i'm sure this somehow makes you right, but all you're doing is employing a diversionary tactic to distract from your losing comments.

Like usual.

You clearly misunderstood.
I covered both in my earlier post and now you are pretending I am pivoting because you illustrated that sometimes costs are recouped from vandals.
If you can't debate honestly what is the point?

Another one caught, and this time it's Minnesota's state government financial policy analyst Dylan Bryan Adams, age 33. i guess his parents liked Bryan Adams and Bob Dylan. :geekdanc:
He was arrested for several incidents of vandalizing Teslas causing approximately $20K in damages.
This happened just weeks after Minnesota Governor Tim Walz celebrated publicly the recent drop in Tesla stock even though state employee pensions are heavily invested in that stock.
It's a cult, but unlike those cults that made the news for mass suicides, this one doesn't appear to have a purpose. They aren't trying to get to heaven or catch a ride on a comet. Instead, they are happiest doing stupid stuff for no apparent reason other than feelings and clicks.

Tampon Tim's staffer damaged multiple Teslas totalling $20K and the prosecution has declined to file charges. Good thing there's civil court so insurance companies can try to get their money back (sarcasm).

Was that the state's prosecutor? if so, he's not free and clear yet.
3 people face federal charges for Tesla attacks.
Are such acts domestic terrorism?
The Department of Justice announced charges Thursday against three
people it says are allegedly responsible for violent incidents targeting
Elon Musk's Tesla cars, showrooms and charging stations across the
country.
The Justice Department says three people — in Charleston, S.C.,
Loveland, Colo., and Salem, Ore. — are facing criminal charges that
carry a minimum penalty of five years and up to 20 years in prison for
a range of violent acts. They include using Molotov cocktails to set fire
to Tesla cars and charging stations and possessing other "incendiary
devices" and a suppressed AR-15 rifle, U.S. Attorney General Pam Bondi
said in a statement Thursday.
"The days of committing crimes without consequence have ended,"
Bondi said. "Let this be a warning: if you join this wave of domestic
terrorism against Tesla properties, the Department of Justice will put
you behind bars."

Yes.
Seeming how he just keyed them, I won't hold my breath that he would be charged federally.

I don't know. Seems a case could be made for being part of a plot to terrorize Tesla owners and sellers. if sales decline due to their vandalism, who would Tesla sue for damages? My first instinct would be to sue prosecutors who refuse to prosecute Tesla vandals but not for damage to other car brands.

Tesla would have to show that their sales are down, but I think their sales increased during all of this. Not 100% sure.
Maybe since this guy is getting national non-fake news coverage, Pam will look into it.

I believe the car lots that were fire bombed probably missed more than a few sales.
But, i could be wrong.

These attacks aren't real complicated, I don't think they require funding. What would it be, $5 for a gallon of gas and a lighter?
From what I have seen they really just seem more like unhinged individuals acting out.
The FBI and ATF both said they haven't found any evidence of coordination.

protesters were paid to be there, and in some cases, busses were provided to take them there
