Title: I Want My EBT
Post by: astroboy on October 29, 2025, 08:09:59 AM
Welfare mom via multiple baby daddies brought in over $10k per month until she could not.
She also gets to drive a BMW and has her own social media channel.
Dan has another great report on social assistance abusers who now have to work.

I gave your post a like, astro, not because I enjoyed the content.  But because you are spot on as far as the abuse of the system.  And it infuriates me to no end.

It needs to be fixed.  The current administration needs to implement some kind of vetting system so people who really need it get as much help as possible while those who are milking the system gets called out and kicked out.  Plain and simple.

Whether these people truly are in need or whether they are gaming the system shamelessly, my heart goes out to ALL children who go hungry. :(

This is how to make America great again.
Sadly, I worked for 5 decades and some of my tax money went to these scammers.

My mother told me a story a long time ago of when she had gone to the grocery store that morning.  There was a very large black woman in front of her checking out.  She was buying 3 times the groceries my mom was.  When she tried to pay with her food stamps, the clerk said he'd have to have cash for the 3 cartons of cigarettes she had.  After trying to argue for a minute, she pulled a $50 bill from her purse for the smokes and left.  As my mom walked out, she saw the woman leave in what looked like a new or new-ish Cadillac.  This was in the 70s, so Cadillacs were not very common.

People have been gaming government entitlement programs for many decades.  Hearing about it now just means government has yet to stop the fraud, waste and abuse which is the hallmark of most government social programs.

I don't even get mad anymore, and I don't blame the people who are milking the system.  i chalk it up to incompetence and laziness in government being an undeniable fact of life.  if anyone ever finds a way to plug those leaks in ALL gov't programs -- Medicare, Medicaid, Food Stamps, WIC, housing subsidies, utility subsidies, cell phone subsidies, school lunch programs, Obamacare, ...... -- we'd be able to balance the budget and have money left over to eventually pay off the national debt.

This story rings true for me.  In the early 80s I worked in a small local supermarket.  The welfare Moms would make small purchases (like a pack of gum) with food stamps and use the change to buy cigarettes - a pack cost about $1 back then.

Eventually, EBT cards were able to stop that practice.

Of course, now the small markets working the scam will take an EbT card, ring up the entire value for food, then give the beneficiary maybe half or less that amount in cash.  The store then gets the full reimbursement amount PLUS a handling fee, and the card user gets some cash for their drug of choice or whatever.  And the store can sell the food they pretended to sell and get paid again for it.

There was a case in China Town of a grocery store lady  (owner?) getting arrested in the morning for that, then she got arrested again in the afternoon for the same thing.

States need to do audits and not be lazy.  I went to Kaimuki High School and the Palolo Housing kids went here too.  I would often go to the housing when hanging at a friends house.  On many occassions, I saw their parents car which was a BMW or Benz with rhuge rims.  So I asked about it and they said it's under their grandmas name.  Some had $12K karakoke machines in their home.  But cars was the big one. So on paper, they look poor enought to qualify for the housing, but their parents worked cash jobs and made money.

Some had the housing under the poor grandparents name who's on fixed income, but the kid and their parents lived in the home as well.  It was small, but that means the parents don't have to pay rent to another place as they can live with the grandparents for cheap/free.

Then when I worked at Times Kaimuki, same thing with food stamps and nice BMW's w/rims and blasting the sounds in the parking lot. All the cashiers knew who was scamming the system.

So using the examples above, what could be done is audit the grandma and see how she's able to afford the expensive car and her own stuff.  Target all the nice cars is 1 way.  This would take much more effort than just saying "fill out this form and show me your tax return".

I haven't actually ever lived off of the above, so IDK the true process, but it appears that not enough is being done to combat fraud.  So refer to my "show me your tax return" example.

I did some research for a social studies paper on welfare fraud.  I came to the conclusion that if the recipients put as much time and effort into a job and education as they did learning how to take advantage of all the welfare programs available, we'd only be supporting the truly needy while increasing the tax base.

Of course, that would mean the welfare queens having 5+ kids from as many baby-daddies would have to pay for babysitting and not be at home all day watching TV and doing whatever it is they want or need to.

I had an idea, what if their kids were taken away and given to those who want to adopt?  But the next problem would be they would have even more kids and there is no ending of the cycle.

People are raised to depend on the government and not on themsleves or to be responsible.  How many in say Japan have 5 kids and are on some kind of state assistance?

We need a harsh system. After 5 years, you're cut off.  As there is zero incentive to come off of welfare if you're not a responsible person.

I'll use myself as an example. I do want more kids, but I don't want to be on welfare or to not be able to do things that cost money.  So as of now, 1 child is enough financially.

There was one article i read about a single mom living in NYC.  She got a full time job, found a sitter she could trust, had to pay for food, rent, transportation to/from work, and was actually making less than she was given in welfare before she started working again.

Now some other person is basically raising her child, and she's too tired at night to have any real quality time with her son.

So, when you look at quality of life, why NOT live off the government?  Be home for your son,  take care of the home during the week and have free time on the weekends for doing something special?  When it comes to single parents, it's attractive.

I recall an article a long time ago addressing the endless cycle of dependence on government assistance.

The article highlighted how parents teach their children how to game the welfare system once they become adults.

I was listening to a Timcast podcast today talking about how some of these welfare queens went on social media threatening to rob shoppers of their groceries if their SNAP benefits get cut off.

The guest speaker talked about how in the past, welfare recipients would quietly go about their business, knowing that the people who were going to work were the ones paying into the system that gave them foodstamps and other assistance.

Now he is aghast as to how these welfare queens act nowadays; all entitled, arrogant, and shameless.  No respect for the very people feeding their fat faces and big asses.

What was troubling was these people were planning to target shoppers as they left the store and headed to their cars.

One of these black asses on social media kept taunting "Whatchu gonna do?  Whatchu gonna do?"  Timcast said quietly "You're gonna get shot......"

I commented in the COMMENTS section:  To the person who kept taunting whatchu gonna do: FAFO.

In addition to targeting welfare cheats the Trump admin is also going after the people who got pandemic relief funds using false info.
Some of these people took the money and spent thousands on expensive cars, vacays, property, etc. They also padded their
applications with 100's of fake employees. Well it's time to pay the piper.

I recall my late brother in law telling me about a man who he had to interview for a police report. At the end of the conversation
the man told him he is always at home and he sees everything in the hood. My BIL asked him if he had a job. The dude told him:
"Eh I no need work, I third generation welfare..

One thing that kept coming up in my research is whether or not subsidies for food can ever truly be stopped.

So, government gives, say, $500/month to a single occupant household for food.  It can only be used for food items that qualify for the SNAP program.

WIC is a another supplemental nutrition program for Women, Infants and Children, but that wouldn't be included in this example.  WIC has stricter guidelines as to what and how many of each food item can be purchased in a given period as a way of making sure infants, children and their mothers are getting more than sugary breakfast cereals, Pop Tarts, sodas, chips and fruit roll-ups in their diet.

So, back to the example.  The recipient gets $500 and spends it on reasonably healthy fresh meats and vegetables, dairy products, a few convenience items like canned soups, Hamburger Helper and sandwich ingredients.

The retailer takes $500 from the EBT card in however many visits in the month, and the government reimburses the grocer for the cost.  When food stamps were paper coupons, the grocers also received a small handling fee to cover costs associated with the redemption process.  Not sure if that's the case with the electronic EBT cards now.  My guess is the state might get money for administering the program, but electronic EBT transactions don't seem to be very labor-intensive for retailers.

The food that was sold on EBT is the same food that would be sold for cash or credit.  That means the store ordered that food from their suppliers and distributors the same as they would all their food.

In turn, the producers are able to sell their produce, and the companies that process the foods are as well, because the demand for their products remains above what it might be if everyone had to choose to shop within their own budget.

So, production remains steadily high, prices remain relatively stabile, and quantities and selection at the store remain plentiful.

What happens when former EBT-paying customers start choosing the least expensive chickens, hamburger, pot roasts and pork chops because they can no longer afford steak, fresh seafood or the more expensive organic varieties of fruits, vegetables and meats?

Obviously, the demand will shift.  Retailers will make less without gov't subsidies enabling "higher quality" choices by those shoppers, which in turn means the distributors, suppliers, producers and prcessors will also make less.

This trickles down into the labor force, transportation costs (fuel/oil), and eventually the tax revenues collected for those states which do charge sales tax on most/all food purchases.  No retailer can collect sales tax on qualifying food bought with SNAP/WIC.

It's a complicated and broad circle.  Can farmers and ranchers continue to provide the same quantity and quality if prices drop too much due to decreased demand?  Will restaurants have to raise prices in order to procure the quality of ingredients they are used to offering?  Can parents afford to have fresh veggies with each dinner, or will it be processed, prepackaged, frozen or canned?  We used to have a garden every year with about 6-7 vegetables to lower our food bill and have fresh, organic items we grew ourselves.

Anyway, it's something to think about.  Can we afford to stop the EBT program on Nov 1 without having taken the time to analyze the impact on the economy and especially those who might depend now on those government EBT dollars to keep them productive in order to supply what everyone not on EBT buys and at the same prices?

Some political analysts are saying that Trump will announce at the very last minute (tomorrow the 31st.) that he has "found" funds to keep EBT flowing.

Trump will be touted by his administration as the hero of the country who did everything he can for the truly vulnerable amongst us, along with the fat-ass gamers and their BMW's with bling-bling and neglected children with shit filled diapers.

It will put the final nail on the coffin of his arch enemy, the democrats and paint the party as the inept, corrupt, and self-serving pukes that they are.

And when that emergency funding runs out Trump will round up all the EBT users and send them to NYC where their newly elected Mayor gives free everything to everybody.

Then he will build a wall around the city.

SNAP beneficiaries have expressed outrage on social media over the government shutdown that could affect their grocery benefits starting next month, and some are even threatening to ransack stores if food stamp payments don’t go through starting Nov. 1.

"It is the taxpayer’s responsibility to take care of my kids," one emotional mother said in a video posted online. "It is the taxpayer's job to pay for my kids to eat and for my kids to be taken care of."

The same woman also complained about how none of her TikTok followers had sent her money, warning she would block anyone who viewed her videos without sending cash.

"Because of the government shutdown, now I can’t get my SNAPs for next month," another user shared on social media.

The user went on to ask how she was supposed to feed her seven children.

"I have seven different baby daddies and none of ‘em no good for me," she said.

Lol!  But yeah, I was thinking that tonight, besides it being a Friday, will be exceptionally busy.  Not only will there be children trick or treating, but there will also be baby mamas trick or treating also.  Extra candy is better than nothing, which will be a reality in a couple of hours as EBT is history as of midnight tonight.

Lots of hyper children (and adults) tomorrow.  More apparent than normal as the sugar high kicks in and stays longer than usual.

My brother called me to say that he bought me a big bag of halloween candies to hand out tonight so he wanted me to drop by to pick it up.

I told him I think he should hold on to it because the bag he bought for himself might not be enough.

Heaven forbid he gets mugged by the baby mamas because he ran out or worse, gets caught just handing one candy each to each trick or treater.

Matt Walsh has a great video on this subject and others.
3/4th of Americans on food stamps are over weight or obese.
It reminds me of the lyrics from the song by Oliver Anthony.
"If you're 5ft 3 and you're 300 lbs., taxes ought not to pay for your bag of fudge rounds."
Its a 50 minute video but its worth watching.

I would agree if the shutdown was expected to last through Dec 2026.

In the short 1-2 months I expect this to go on, the supply will adjust to create an artificial shortage, then make it up with increased production during the holidays -- when shoppers will be buying the $200+ prime rib roasts and the $20/lb Alaskan King Crab Legs.

Latest updates I've seen ....

Two courts have issued injunctions saying Trump must fund SNAP with the money Congress gave him last year in the SNAP emergency fund.

One problem is the courts are telling him to do something he may not have the authority under the law to do -- a law passed by Congress.

So, can a judge order the president to go against congress?  I don't think that's part of the checks and balances in our government.  Otherwise, congress  has no power.  A court can negate every law made by congress and every action made by any president if this is the case.

The order by one judge also set a deadline of Monday, Nov 4th, for Trump to fund SNAP.  Today is Monday, Nov 3rd.  Obviously whoever made the order doesn't have a current calendar handy.  That discrepancy would be another way Trump can challenge the ruling.

If Trump decided, "Screw it all!  I'm going to fund SNAP for the next 3 months, and with monies Congress gave me for emergency SNAP benefits in the event of a disaster."  That's still not enough to give 100% of SNAP entitlements to all beneficiaries.  They would have to give partial SNAP supplement payments, which is almost impossible given the administrative and accounting systems in place.

Hawaii announced a $42.2M plan to give all SNAP recipients in the state $250 on their EBT.  For some, that's enough to make it to the end of Nov.  For others, it's nowhere close to the amount they receive monthly for their household.

What Gov. Green didn't say is whether that $250 will be taken back once the federal dollars arrive.  In other words, if you get $750/month from the federal program, the next EBT benefits you get might be reduced by $250, so you only get $500 in order to pay back the state.  Or, on the other hand, will that $42.2M be a bonus for recipients on top of the SNAP benefits that you are owed since Oct 1?  Details, details.  I doubt the state will sit idly by while recipients get paid that $250 twice.  i'm just curious what the plan is and whether this will be done again in Dec, ... if the shutdown drags on and on.

Tomorrow is election day.  I dont see the Democrats holding out longer than the end of this week.  Nothing to be gained by continuing the shutdown.

Sounds like a waste of time.  If the delay in getting the partial entitlements to recipients is "weeks or months," a budget will probably be in place by then, and anything they did to facilitate the partial payments will have to be reversed.  Getting a bill passed is not a guarantee, and we are talking about getting Democrats to stop voting against the budget bill without the billions of new spending they are demanding.  But, with the election out of the way, they lose any positive effect they might see coming out of the shutdown.  If military and furloughed employees continue without pay, it only gets worse for the Dems.

One big deal with this bandaid solution is that new SNAP applicants who aren't already entitled to the benefit will not be included in the partial disbursement.  That probably includes a lot of furloughed employees and those in critical positions still working and not getting paid.
Quote
The Trump administration has committed to partially fund SNAP with $4.65 billion,
which will cover about half of the benefits for eligible households in November.

However, due to procedural difficulties, it may take weeks or even months for these
reduced benefits to be distributed to recipients.

SNAP benefits will restart, but will be
half the normal payment and delayed

Quote
The Trump administration says it will restart SNAP food benefits but it
will pay out only half the amount people normally get.

The administration says it will use money from an Agriculture Department
contingency fund. The $5 billion in that fund falls well short of the full cost
of SNAP benefits — $8 billion — each month. In a court filing, officials said
depleting that fund means "no funds will remain for new SNAP applicants
certified in November, disaster assistance, or as a cushion against the
potential catastrophic consequences of shutting down SNAP entirely."
.....
The administration warns there could be lengthy delays before benefits get
into the hands of low-income families who depend on SNAP to put food on
the table.

Alexander Fraser Tytler was a teacher and scholar in 1800s Scotland.  He reportedly said:
Quote
A democracy cannot exist as a permanent form of government. It can only exist until
the voters discover that they can vote themselves largesse from the public treasury.

From that moment on, the majority always votes for the candidates promising the
most benefits from the public treasury with the result that a democracy always collapses
over loose fiscal policy, always followed by a dictatorship.

The average age of the world's greatest civilizations has been 200 years. These nations
have progressed through this sequence: From bondage to spiritual faith; From spiritual
faith to great courage; From courage to liberty; From liberty to abundance; From
abundance to selfishness; From selfishness to apathy; From apathy to dependence;
From dependence back into bondage.

No reason to be nervous about the SNAP situation.  Just get what you want and walk out of the store without paying.

Why are all these videos of SNAP-related thefts black women?

One woman went to a nice White neighborhood to steal, because they have fewer Loss Prevention problems (hence fewer loss prevention measures & people).  She just loaded up her cart and walked out all the while recording herself.

The more i see of these people posting these kinds of videos, the more I have to nod and say, "No wonder you can't find a good-paying job.  You're a moron!"

https://youtu.be/40ekHByccY0

Then this woman displays everything she took while complaining the stuff costs too much.  Why the hell would the stuff NOT cost too much with all the theft that's going on?  People who pay for what they take are subsidizing those who of you don't pay.  Stores are not in business to lose money, and shoplifting costs them money.  Duh!!

It's like other welfare or entitlement programs.  Once you get someone hooked, it's very difficult to get them to improve their situation when it means losing their government subsidies.

This is the main holdup with the shutdown.  COVID-era ACA/Obamacare subsidies were increased.  That means someone maybe paying previously $150/month for a healthcare plan was now paying around $15-$20/month.  With the sunsetting of those COVID-era additional subsidies, millions will find it difficult, if not impossible, to afford the premiums, annual deductibles and co-pays.

In a nutshell, the Affordable Healthcare Act made costs skyrocket, which made Dems nervous, especially after Obama told the nation that if you trusted what he told you without checking, that's your own damn fault.  With the additional emergency subsidies, the ACA actually became affordable, but now that's about to go away and return to the old "Affordable my ass!" rates.

This is why the Dems needed to cram their ACA  proposals to extend COVID subsidies into the budget for another year.  I doubt the subsidies will survive any real debate in the Senate.

From what i can tell, Federal USDA SNAP benefits were loaded onto EBT cards on Friday last week, Nov 7.

Then Hawaii's announced payment to all recipients was loaded today, Nov 10.

Interesting, since the actual bill is still making its way through the Senate and the House, then to Trump for signature.

The $250 HI SNAP benefit was a stop-gap measure for just our state's recipients and came from the state's funds.

Maybe Trump trusts the bill will be passed now, and there's no reason to withhold benefits due to not having a CR.

I find it interesting nobody is saying how the funding was used without a CR.  Maybe Trump is being set up for another impeachment?  Misappropriation of federal funds?

I have never heard or saw on social media any EBT recipients who were thankful. ALmost all say its "their" benefit. I "deserve" this. No thanks to the working middle class families whose income were diverted. No gratefulness.

Roger that.

I'd bet, as these recepients gather around the warm family table this Thanksgiving, creaking under the load of all the wonderful foods that EBT brings, a family member will stand up and quietly call everyone to prayer.

For Thanks.

Thanks to the EBT program where we can enjoy the windfall that enables us to buy fireworks at the end of the year......

No thanks whatsoever to the hard working people that made their benefits possible, these very people who just might be eating processed turkey instead of the real thing.  And driving a 2007 Toyota Corolla instead of a lifted F-150 with bling bling wheels and tires.

I might be cynical but ainokea.  May God punish me if I am insensitive but I'm suffering from  entitlement fatigue after hearing and seeing it in the news, airwaves, internet, and even in my own family.

The slaves of the modern age, unable to stand for themselves.  The Left’s narrative of victimhood is the yoke they slip around these peoples necks, and they become their cattle, all for free government cheese, usually for the rest of their lives.

If one should doubt this characterization, I would ask them to consider there are apparently 41 MILLION of them.

Canada has a total population of 40.1 million, so we have a country the size of Canada within our borders who are sucking hard on the government teat ….

Some of those EBT pigs look too comfortable hanging around that feeder.

The government should require them some gym time.

This information is not readily presented on the DHS website, but I've seen it in 3 other places.

Quote
The Hawaii Emergency Food Assistance Program (HEFAP)
benefits will expire on December 31, 2025, if they are not used.
These benefits are available for purchasing food and groceries
at retail locations that accept EBT cards.

The state benefit is supposed to be debited from an EBT card before any federal benefit.

Anyway, it answers my question as to whether the state will try to take that money back.  They are going to get it back from anyone who doesn't spend $250 on their EBT between 11/10 and 12/31.  Slim to no chance of that happening.
