Thanks everyone.  Good info here.  One thing I was wondering though is about my ability to sell the motorbike in Hawaii as opposed to say just selling it in San Diego and renting a vehicle in Hawaii.  Would the bike have a greater value in Hawaii?  Regulatory issues selling it?  In either case I would need a vehicle in Hawaii which is why I was considering just bringing my bike with me and then selling it there.

Planning a trip to Hawaii from San Diego around June or so and have a 1994 Honda Magna 750 in mint condition I would ideally like to use to get around Hawaii but then was thinking to maybe sell the bike there instead of bringing it home?  Does this bring with it any issues or expenses or would it be possible to get more for the bike in Hawaii then back in San Diego?  In either case after this trip I would want to sell the bike just wondering if it makes sense to bring it with me to Hawaii or sell it in Cali and then have to rent a bike when I get there.  It appears shipping goes for around $600 or so and takes 2 weeks?  I'd say the bike is worth around $4k in Cali at the moment.
