Just an anecdotal tidbit, I just got my Arizona one in about 60 days as opposed to the 75 day+ lead time on the website, if anyone is looking to get one.

Not sure about the weight, but if you go through Hawaiian Air Cargo, you can ship up to 50lbs of ammo, unless something has changed within the last few months.

Kind of off topic, but does anyone have any BTC they would sell for fiat? Looking to buy a little bit more.

General Discussion / Re: Last Minute HPD Permit To Acquire Question

Thanks for the replies guys. As 19pontiac79 said, they were cool with the swap as long as I was there.

As far as the PCP, they said its up to him, which was too vague. He put his mainland PCP to be safe. Hope this helps.

General Discussion / Last Minute HPD Permit To Acquire Question
« on: November 12, 2020, 07:52:45 AM »
Aloha guys. 2 questions for you guys. My brother in law just moved here from California and is wanting to apply for a long gun permit to acquire. I have an appointment this afternoon under my name and am under the impression I can give it to him as long as I am present. I've read here that it is possible, and I've also seen it being done while waiting at the reg side. Second question is if he doesn't have a PCP/doctor here, can he put no doctor on the form, or is it better for him to list his PCP on the mainland? Thanks  :shaka: :shaka:

As of 13:50 HGS only had a handful of 9mm boxes left. Tried calling for pricing before driving down but no answer, but also didn’t want to miss out. Had I known the price, probably would’ve passed, but since I’m there... lol

Legal and Activism / Re: AR Stripped Lower Registration: Other or Pistol
« on: October 24, 2020, 02:57:58 PM »
When ordering a lower to be shipped to a local FFL, do you need to give the seller or FFL any special instructions?

Do I just buy a regular AR lower, have it shipped to FFL, then tell FFL I want to register it as other?

I’m going through this process right now. Once you order it, tell your FFL to register with HPD as FRAME ONLY. Mine put receiver and checked the “other” box, and he had to call and update it. Make sure you let them know what you plan on doing, when applying for the permit.

The guy helping me was nice, but he kept telling me to use my long gun permit and that I didn’t need to apply for a permit to acquire.

Just picked up my permit and lower, so trying to figure out what my next step is before registration. I’d be ok keeping it bolt action, as I plan on moving in the next year, and would rather not weld anything.

Very slick article by Civil Beat, making it seem like recent update of the HPD firearms website is responsible for our state's botched Covid response.

https://www.civilbeat.org/2020/10/federal-bailout-money-is-speeding-up-gun-permits-but-help-with-rent-still-lags/

Liberals in the comments section are getting their panties in a knot on cue. Classic dog whistle.

Not to profile or anything, but just looking at the author, I'm sure everyone could see the bias that was coming before even reading the article haha. Interesting observation though, I went twice during the extended hours at HPD, and the people working were not actual officers. They were the temp position employees that they were hiring for a couple of months back. It was pretty clear that they weren't a fan of firearms as they were pretty nasty to the people waiting in line. At least the actual officers are cordial for the most part, and know what they're doing.

Looks like there are new after hours slots can book up to 7 days out. I would be on the look out for those to grab if u want one 7 days out.

Saw that as well. Any idea on the hours and days?

Not sure how true this is, but my FFL told me he spoke to someone at the station, and they plan on keeping this system even after the covid restrictions get lifted.
