Got Sep 1 Appt to reg. Looking for a swap later date Appt to reg any day from Sep 9 to Sep 23. Mahalo! Update; gone now.

This is a stupid system IMHO! Okay I get the appointment deal when applying for the permit and the 14 day waiting period. But the 2nd appointment is absolutely moronic!  Registration should be immediate upon possession from the GS.
(No offense to you.) Thank you for taking the time to write all of this out.

The officer I spoke to said you can keep the gun in your safe until your registration appointment. (insane) because it could be up to 90 days.  He said something about the Governor making some sort of acceptance for COVID-19.
 Sad when the people enforcing the laws have “Blind Compliance” and they don’t see the stupidity.

The Police are the very ones that should be objecting to having to make a Registration appointment.  They should only allow people who already have the gun/approval to purchase make an appointment when they pick up the permit! 

Sorry just had to rant!

I feel you and I know it is frustrating at some point. The police will not object like what you think as it seems it's a delaying tactic to get it more harder. We have to calm down and think of a way to go with the process they put out there.
P.S. I'm still looking for a swap, I need to swap my Oct 30th Appt to reg to an earlier date, I'm looking for any day from Sep 9 to Sep 23. Mahalo

Note:                        
Line 1: I use Aug 25th as an example schedule date for Permit to acquire; from this, you can adjust and pattern your Appt for permit to acquire to a compatible Appt to register.                     
Line 2: Mandatory waiting time before issuing your approved permit to acquire w/c is 14 days.                        
Line 3: After 14 days waiting period you have 6 days to pick up your approved permit. Dates are shown when to pick up your permit.  If you don't pick up your permit within 6 days, it will be voided, and you go back to hunting an Appt for permit to acquire.                     
Line 4: Dates that your permit is valid to use. These dates should also be your Appt to register.   You pick up your permit on a day in Line 3, then the compatible Appt to register should be on Line 4.

*** With this please don't hog most appointments.                          
***Pls don’t waste the Appt for permit to acquire schedule if you will not have the right Appt to register schedule. Swap it with someone with compatible schedules.                     
***Pls don’t waste the Appt to register schedule if your permit to acquire is going to be expired at the time to register your guns. Swap it with someone with compatible schedules.

Was in the middle of swap and someone swooped it.



So last night 08/24/2020 at 7:39pm, I was the one who cancelled the permit to acquire appt on Sept 3rd 1pm. Was meant for 6716J but I knew cancelling the appt comes with the risk of anyone whose also looking for appt online and the fastest to click "submit" after filling the infos is bound to get it... With it, it's safe to say that the scheduling we made so far might be, at the time of two person swapping schedule and we were fast enough and lucky to get the released schedule. Until there is an abundance of open schedule, This is how it's going to be In these times when scheduling an appt is hard to come by.
