General Discussion / Re: CCW Wait Times???

If you’re denied, that’s a whole different process. My approval letter came right around 3 months via regular mail, not certified. I asked HPD about them taking more than 4 months to approve or deny applications, at the time they said none had gone beyond 4 months and that I should get notified in plenty of time before then. I guess one month to spare is considered plenty of time, lol. Also you have to provide your own passport sized photo for your license if approved.
I've been waiting almost 3 months. The wait time word on the street is about 3 months. At 4 months, due to the new law passing, you're automatically denied and need to start from zero again, which includes paying another $150 and retaking the shooting qualification (90 days valid for).
If you're approved, you get a certified letter in the mail telling you, and you need to go back to HPD to take your picture and have your CCW card issued on the spot.
