General Discussion / Re: Constitutional Carry
« on: December 21, 2022, 12:13:13 PM »
It can only be ruled on by SCOTUS if it’s brought that far. Has to go through all proper channels. They can only rule broadly as a decision, not in the sense that CC will/ is allowed in all states. If a single state gets to them about it, they will likely only rule per that state due to the scope of their limits. Ex: if California case about CC hits SCOTUS, they will only rule regarding California, not the other 49 states that haven’t adopted it yet

Wish they could, but likely won’t. Too much of a “states right” issue I’d assume

Took the Hawaii Tactical Division’s CCW course today. 4 hour lecture with PowerPoint and note packet to write in answers and notes about rules and laws, multiple choice in-depth test, and then live fire shooting test. $100 deposit to secure spot in class and balance payable upon completion or entrance of class. Range fee and targets are paid for by HTD. Only have to pay for ammo of choice. 25 round test at ~ 3, 5, 7, and 15 yards. Max score 125, minimum of 75 to pass. Scored 125 and fired concealed with shot timer and from holster

Can retest if you fail (won’t happen) and you can even show up a little early to knock out the handgun safety training and get the affidavit if you don’t have it already. Refer to my name (Kyle) or anyone else who went and you’ll get $20 off course fee + additional $25 off if you’re a paid HIFICO member (total cost is $250 before discounts)

Incredibly chill but professional and informative crew. 10/10 would recommend and when I qual with another pistol, I’m going back to them

Competition / Re: Marine Corps Marksmanship Competition Pacific 2023
« on: December 16, 2022, 11:48:22 AM »
This event is not open to the public. Non-military participants must be approved by the Commanding Officer of Marine Corps Base Hawaii.

The proposed dates are 23 January till 3 February 2023. I have not seen the Official Match Program to date, but there is usually a requirement for body armor and ballistic helmet.

I'll post more info as I get it.

Please do yut

Ugly ass gun anyway. I will never buy a gun unless it’s either through a trusted dealer site, in person in state, or I’m there with the, in person. No go whether the desk is good or not. Too easy to get scammed

Doesn’t include ammo? This is a terrible deal

My honest opinion is to wait until permits actually start being issued.  Right now, moving goalposts make it difficult to score.  People who applied earlier had to reapply on a different form.
Then there is some bullshit about something has to be within 90 days. All tactics to make it as difficult as possible for people who studies have shown are more law abiding than the police. And you have to go through the application process every 12 months? And if this sensitive places bill passes you not going to be able to legally carry where you need to anyway.

I never had to reapply on a different form and was never told I needed to. I was one of the first 20 to apply on Oahu

What happened to the roughly 600 applications prior to their rule changes?

No law has been changed. The requirements were already in place. Are we all now denied?

Was under the impression we’d be grandfathered in, but wouldn’t be surprised otherwise. Got a letter yesterday from HPD saying my application is pending still. Sent me the paper checklist and basically said I need to do the test and live fire test and submit scores without actually telling me I need to. I was within the first 20 or so to apply. Still no word besides it’s pending as of letter date “November 21, 2022”

I looked at the form.   For a second, I thought I saw “rectal extraction” then looked again, saw “racial extraction”.

Dang it. Could’ve been a chance to sue for rectal discrimination

If someone bans you for freely expressing your right to freedom of speech, they probably shouldn’t have the ability to ban people. Fuck Green and everyone against the Constitution
