Thanks for the replies. Gotta try figure out whether I'm going to focus on one side or try to hit both sides. Had to ask because it seems to be open for only 3 hours on weekdays. Bro is only flying in for a wedding for a few days and will be busy during the weekend. I guess if I buy too much ammo it will give me an excuse to go again soon after.
Just read a post that said it's super busy on the weekends. I've only been there on weekends. Trying to plan an outing with my brother from the mainland. What is it like on the weekdays? Have to get there early to get a spot on rifle range? Can I expect to be able to hit the rifle range when they open, then be able to get a spot on handgun side when I'm finished? Thanks.
I searched for it on the forums, but I wanted a clear cut answer on this. Before I buy or sell a handgun on the forums I wanted to know the proper way to transfer a handgun in Hawaii.
If I were selling can I just give the buyer the info on the handgun: make, type, cal, barrel length, serial number...
He/her goes down with the info to apply for a permit. Wait 14 days. Final transfer takes place at HPD after the wait period, where the seller brings/signs the gun over and receives payment?
Or, can the buyer pick up the permit after the wait...take to seller...seller signs permit, takes payment hands over handgun. Buyer to complete registration at HPD.
Does the actual transfer take place after the 14 days where the seller actually has to sign a document?
I like the .357 platform too. Use .38 for practice. Then move up to .38+p. Use .38+p for HD until you get comfortable with using .357. I like 6-8 shot S&W and Rugers in 4 inch barrels for that purpose.
EDIT: I forgot to mention...I prefer double action revolvers with the specs mentioned above. I like to think single action only is for them cowboys
I haven't been to Koko Head for ages. Is there an area where I can put buckshot on paper at close ranges?
Plus...the range in Wailua in closed right?...have not been able to find info on it anymore.
