Reloading / Re: Hard cast lead vs. soft lead

The one thing that I would recommend with hard cast bullets is to push them fast enough. It has been my experience that if you don't they won't seal right which gives uneven gas distribution. This results in lousy accuracy.  The real nice thing about hard cast bullets is that there usually isn't any problem with leading.  I run a 300 gr FN in my elk load in my 44 Mag and a 240 gr  SWC for my practice loads in it.  Slim

Sounds like a lot of good times happening on Oahu. Wish I could have been there.  Slim

A Ruger Charger of course. >:D.  But that's just me.  I would also check out the S & Ws.  They shoot real well.  I do love my MK II slab side target model.  Bought it to compete with my friend's son who always out shoots me.  Slim

Either a new Encore 260 Rem barrel with a Holland QD brake from MGM or redo my XP to 260 Rem.  Both for shooting the long range.  Slim

I guess about the only thing easier to travel with would be my Charger.  But probably not after I put the Ken Light mount on it and the Nighforce scope.  Let us know how it shoots.  Check out Rimfire Central for accurizing tips.  Slim

Good Morning All.  Just got back to the mainland, Seatac, WA, after two glorious weeks on Kaua'i.  Found this forum while searching for shooting places/people on Kaua'i.  I am a Specialty Pistol shooter preferring the Thompson Center Encore.  I Also have a couple of XPs.  I hope through this forum to make contact with and support the Hawaii shooters and have a chance to shoot the next time I am in the islands.  I am a member of the NRA, Renton Fish & Game Club, Washington Arms Collectors and more interested in prairie dogs and varmints then big game here on the mainland.  My latest project is a 300 yard Ruger Charger for prairie dogs.  I shoot on a regular basis, every Sunday at Renton F & G.  Aloha & Ma halo.  Slim
