General Discussion / Re: I want to shoot my firearms.....
« on: May 11, 2021, 08:23:41 PM »
I was thinking of reloading years ago but I just am so concerned about screwing things up. I have 38 spc dies and a single stage press that was given to me including powder scale and other reloading accessories. Saved a bunch of once fired brass in 38 spc, 357 mag, 9mm, 45 ACP, and 223 cal. But even if I was motivated to reload, no can find primers and powder.

I'll just sit on my ammo and see what happens in the future. Hopefully this shortage and liberal climate will change for the better.

General Discussion / Re: LGS With Pepper Spray In Stock

Ebay and Amazon are two places I order my Fox pepper spray from. If Amazon don't ship I'll go ebay. I carry the smallest one they make in a Comp Tac holster.

I've had a 686 Plus with 4 inch barrel for about a dozen years now. Fabulous gun and accurate. My favorite gun to shoot. Then there is my Model 638 snub revolver t bought about seven years ago that I couldn't hit the side of a barn with. Finally sent this gun back to S&W to fix the misaligned barrel. All that time shooting it I thought it was me. Dumb. I still like S&W revolvers as they have a good service department and great customer service.

Overall I like USPS over the other shipping carriers (UPS and FedEx) because of the shipping costs and shipping speed. Those flat rate Priority mail shipping boxes are great. The guy that sent the stock to the OP could have gotten a USPS shipping box that actually would have accommodated that gun stock. Oh well.

Walmart jeans are good. For $12 they are well made, fits well, and lasts long.

I inherited some firearms last year and this info may help. Two firearms (a Colt Python and a Armalite AR-180) was owned by my wife's cousin that passed away. We didn't know if they were registered. I went to MPD Records Department and said in order for me to get the firearms transferred to me I had to use a FFL dealer. The dealer would hold the guns and contact MPD Records Department to research the firearms serial numbers and take a copy of the cousin's death certificate as part of the registration research. It didn't take more than two days to get the all clear. I gathered the firearms from the dealer, went to MPD and registered the firearms.

There was also another firearm (another Armalite AR-180) that was owned by family. He lives in the mainland but kept the gun here in Hawaii. I got a firearm bill of sale form from MPD, had the owner sign and notarized it and sent it back to me. I then was able to register the gun.

So if the owner of the guns are still alive the least the person needs to do is have a notarized bill of sale for the next registered owner to transfer ownership. If the guns are not stolen or ??? registration should be easy. Good luck.

I just inherited several firearms last year. I own a handmade knife from the Philippines passed down from my dad to me. Past is past I wouldn't give it a second thought what the history was behind these objects other than they are family heirlooms. I'll make positive memories with them now that they are in my responsible hands.

I had a CCW license in WA state for about 17 years.
After the recent North decision I applied for a Concealed carry permit
as I live in Hawaii county.  I really don't want to open carry as most Hawaiians
are really not too bright and will call 911.
I have been ignored by the top cop that has the "right" to rule on a permit.
I will file and testify before the police commission to get a public record
and then file Qui Tam on USC 18 section 242.
I will get a lawyer on speed dial and start to open carry.
Hawaii gun laws are un-constitutional, just because there are
only a few of us  of us doesn't mean we have to accept the tyranny
of Democrats.  I'm going to fight. I'm going to obliterate.
Above all I will be able to defend myself from the Hawaiian
Government.
Good luck more power to you. I wish you well on your decision to fight the power.

So what state carry permit is the easiest to get from out of state? I remember years ago Florida was easy to obtain. Pretty much just fingerprints, photo, background check and it was mail in application.

Legal and Activism / Re: Update Young v. State of Hawaii
« on: July 24, 2018, 07:44:41 PM »
So if things work out and Hawaii's law abiding citizens will be able to carry, there is going to be a need trainers that will certify potential permit applicants. One of Maui County requirements for carry permit applicants is being certified by a gun safety trainer. I couldn't find any trainer on the island that could aid me cover that criteria. Too bad we just couldn't just cut to the chase and have constitutional carry plain and simple. Ha!

I clean all my guns as soon as possible. I'm just concerned that my guns are going to rust especially the barrel and I'll be all sad and depressed. Ha!

Need to see more reporting of legal armed citizens defending themselves and others. There are so much out there that the fake MSM is refusing to report.

Got to try out my 1911 yesterday and it was nice really smooth. only problem was it was shooting to the left had some buddies also try and they were also experiencing the same thing so I'm taking it to the gun shop to have it adjusted.
I highly suggest borrowing a rear sight pusher or even invest into a sight tool. They come in handy.

The other side will use anything they can to make you look "blood thirsty".  So it's how you articulate why you have certain accessories.  This is why you must keep your mouth shut until you speak to an attorney, which is a right you are given.

Everything you say besides your name makes your attorny's job that much harder.

How about aftermarket parts? Would that equate to the firearm owner to be bloodthirsty and have the propensity for violence? Scopes, night sights, weapon lights, trigger kits could cause some issue. Maybe even posting on firearms forums could be misconstrued. What a slippery slope.

"Detective, he was making threatening statements saying he was going to kill me and motioning like he had a concealed weapon.  He reached for his waistband, so I fired.  As soon as he saw me aim and pull the trigger, he tried to block the shot.

That's why there's a bullet hole though the TV."
Much better scenario than mine.

I did not bring any hardware..... Working on our old house.
I never saw the area when it was open so I just wanted to go see.
Should just stop by. Great bunch of guys. Bring eye and ear protection.

You should plan your next visit around one of the open days and bring some range toys.
