General Discussion / Re: Kokohead shooting complex
« on: November 08, 2023, 10:28:03 AM »
Have not heard anything about that from the trap side, maybe skeet?   ???
Here is an updated email that my buddy forwarded to me this morning.

"There have been a lot of questions and concerns about the new barrel length rule. Let me clarify. The barrel minimum length has been changed to 25” from 26”. This does not include youth guns and field hunting guns (some of those come in 22” and 25”). There are some Remington 870s and such that have 18” barrels. Certain shotguns may be permitted per range officer’s discretion. The purpose of this rule is to eliminate box fed/detachable magazine style shotguns as well as bullpup, KSG or DP 12.Those platforms have particularly short barrels and are not meant for sporting. Also, all shotguns must have a buttstock. No pistol grips or collapsible stocks.

I also want to include a big thanks to Brian Cordero for his assistance in dealing with the city to help get our range back open. He was helpful and provided a multitude of information that was extremely beneficial for us to use with the parks department regarding planning and permitting. So when you see him sock him on the shoulder and tell him thanks."
Best regards,

Max Yasukawa

Kokohead Trap range to open on Sunday, Nov 12 to Club Members and the general public.    :geekdanc: :geekdanc:
The email that I got today.

 Aloha All,

Good News !!! Honolulu Trap Club is preparing to reopen after over a year's forced hiatus.

The trap range will be open on November 5th for Range Officers ONLY.  Please do not try to come and shoot on that day. The range officers will be checking equipment and making sure all is ready and safe for the public opening.

The trap range will open for members and the general public on Sunday, November 12th. Going forward the range will be open every Sunday from 9am - 3 pm with the proviso that if there are no shooters present, the range will close earlier. The fee is $5.00 per 25 targets for all shooters until January 1st when we will revert to member/non member rates.  Correct change is always appreciated.

Please note that some procedures have changed. There will be two separate trash cans which are clearly marked: one is for spent hulls and ammunition boxes only and the other is for everything else. This is a Department of Health requirement so please follow their rule. We also ask that you do not eat at the same bench/table where there is a likelihood of lead contamination. And it's always good practice to wash your hands before eating.

Looking forward to seeing you all at the range!!!

Honolulu Trap Club
For some reason i didnt get the skeet or trap email, but my friend did and called me about it. He said there is now a 26" barrel length minimum and no smoking. Is that correct?

I wish I saw this BEFORE I got a Pelican Rifle Case...............

It might've tipped the scale towards the Vault V730 instead of the Air 1745.
They are almost the same size...........

Haven't used my 1745 case yet, and haven't  "fitted" my rifles inside the case yet.......
They said they will have for the pelican 1720,1750 and plano allweather42 soon. The director of product management was the source commenting from his personal page on magpuls instagram post.
I imagine buying the largest version they offer and cutting the grid to fit is going to be popular.

Base model xl with only an ecoboost upgrade with a 21.5k sticker is being advertised for 32k for people who dont want to wait. I wanted one but refuse to pay over msrp for a ford/made in mexico anything.
I cant believe theyre working on an st performance model now when they cant come even close to delivering the current 2 engine lineup.

Unless you ask for your money back they will donate it to Planned Parenthood, BLM and Antifa

#gofundyourself
Theyre backtracking on that. Seems like theyre automatically issuing refunds now. Theyd lose a lot of money facing lawsuits.

The new donation site givesendgo is facing a lot of cyber attacks already. 1.25million donated in less than a day

Where can you buy a $20 one that actually works?
My $20 sap cap will stop even someone on drugs. Hard to keep standing after an 8 oz lead weight hits you in the head.

Ive seen this model in person. A friend in washington had one in his car. I didnt zap myself but the crackle appears to be quite powerful. Very bright arc in the dark, and loud as hell. I was going to test it on myself, til i turned it on.

Not sure about how that stupid mandatory safety class works though. Especially with online purchases. What if u want a specific model that no one locally stocks?

Shes supposedly a foster child from a family thats homeless and has been living on the streets until recently. They say shes real outgoing because of that and will get up n go out in the yard by herself. It initially was reported as a possible bedroom abduction. Security system has the door opening at 1am but a 'glitch' had the cameras not working properly

General Discussion / Re: Shotgun recommendation?
« on: August 19, 2021, 01:35:02 PM »
I have a benelli m1 and rem870. Also owned mossberg 500.
Id go benelli m4, or the beretta 1301 is 400 cheaper and very similar. Benelli m2 is nice but beretta 1301 is priced similarly and more modern. if i were spending 1300 id go beretta.

I got my benelli used. I wouldnt even recommend an m2 now that the patent expired and cheap stoegers that are identical. My friend got one in 20gauge for his wife and im pretty certain the bolt n barrel has same forge n proof marks as mine.

Quality semi autos that are well broken in have less malfunctions than a pump gun. Theres too much human error in short stroking pump guns when under pressure. And some of the malfunctions that i get in my benelli would happen in the 870 anyway, like when the tip of the hull is bent outwards.

Also there are other benefits from italian guns like chrome lined bores and better steel(and so much nicer looking). My remington receiver and barrel are rust buckets. Barrel is so bad with the cancer i bought another one as a backup. I figure i can only bore hone it so many times. The remington rust pits and gets rough feeling, but the rust from my sweaty left hand on the benelli is just surface cosmetic rust that cleans off easily. I cleaned the remington so many times the black oxide crappy finish wore thru so i painted it. The benelli still has original exterior finish and the bore is a mirror.

It is a easy way boost post count. No more, no less.

Its for people to get updates on the thread.  Instead of saying hey im nosy lemme know what happens, u just leave a dot and get updates when more new posts are made. For this forum its top right under new replies. Some forums/apps give u notifications.

Firearms and Accessories / Re: Glock 43 is obsolete
« on: March 15, 2021, 01:19:08 PM »
Shield arms levels the playing field for glock. They make a steel g43x 15rd and have a g43 10rd in development. They sell a steel mag catch to go with them.
I thought the G43, G26 and several other subcompact 9mm's became obsolete when the Sig P365 came out a couple of years ago.

10+1 rounds in a smaller gun than the G26 -- more with extended mags.
Almost the same size (or smaller) than the G43 but with 4 more rounds.

I'm seriously considering selling
my Glock 42 .380 AND
my Glock 26 9mm AND
my S&W M&P Shield 9mm
to purchase a Sig P365.

I'll probably sell my Glock 30 .45ACP, too.

I have way too many pocket-carry options in a land that prohibits concealed carry.

Signal is encrypted and recommended by edward snowden.

Elon musk also recently tweeted about recommending  the signal messaging app and because his tweet was vague as usual another company also called signal had their stock go up by over 500% because of the confusion and the elon musk hype train.

Time to replace my Makita NiMH Drill/Impact, any kind of recycling options?  The Cells are spent, I've seen people rebuild them but I think it's time for something modern/smaller.
They sell nimh to li-ion adapters for like 20 bucks.

Id just buy a new drill set on sale. Buying just the batteries n charger is expensive.

The newer brushless tools and 21700 battery based lithium packs are a pretty big leap forward in power and efficiency.

My 60v worm style saw is actually more powerful than a corded full size skilsaw. I think it pulls 23amps. Cuts as fast as u can push it.

KHSC and the archery range adjacent to the metallic side will remain open.
I dont see any mention of khsc and the archery range. I did see that golf courses will remain open. Anyone got a link?

Nevermind i watched the caldwell press conference and heard him mention it. Interesting how news doesnt mention it in their list. Most would just assume its lumped in with parks. Even botanical gardens are mentioned.

Spear point. More durable. Not a fan of thin clip points.
Did you look at the cold steel ad-10? A lot of knife for the price.

I can’t decide between the cold steel recon 1 spear point or clip point. Any thoughts ?

They claim he didnt even see it and that someone from another team crew reported it for him.
Also have any of you seen the 'noose?'
its literally a thin pull chain for the door. The hole is big enough to fit your finger in for grip. I guess it could be a noose.. for a mouse.
